Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Electrical Engineer Intern to work in our St. Petersburg, FL office. This is an exciting opportunity to use gain knowledge and experience in designing communication and electronic warfare systems. Leidos provides design, development, modeling and simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing of advanced electronic systems and various antennas.

Primary Responsibilities

 -Participate in designing, developing and testing sophisticated electronics hardware
-Test RF and analog/digital components and subassemblies and verify compliance with design documentation

-Create design specification documents, schematics, BOMs and printed wiring board layout instructions

-Select COTS components based on analysis of specifications, availability, cost and reliability

-Model and simulate various electrical designs and then transition to proto-typing and testing designs

-Design RF and digital/analog test fixtures to verify and test prototype circuit card assemblies

Basic Qualifications

- Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor or masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. GPA of 3.0 or greater is required. 

- Must have completed at least two years towards degree- Junior standing or above.

- Proficiency with MS Office Products.

- Must have the ability of obtaining a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance- US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Candidate with knowledge of or experience in working with simulation tools such as HFSS, Microwave Office, Matlab, VHDL or similar.

Pay Range:

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
