Job Description:
Leidos is seeking an engineer to work as a Scrum Master on a diverse team for an unmanned autonomous ship project. This engineer will be joining an existing team which has already successfully delivered for our customers. The successful candidate will focus on connecting with the team, and co-operating to help the team focus on making achievable commitments and meeting them together. Our other Scrum Masters will work closely with this new team member, and will collaborate to help coach the team together.
As a Scrum Master, they will be responsible for coaching their team, helping the team follow the Scrum process, acting as the single point of contact for their team with management and the other Scrum teams on the project, in addition to helping the team refine the backlog continuously. This Scrum Master will be an integral part of our team, collaborating to work with us to make our unmanned vessels smarter. Their team of engineers will demonstrate their work regularly for customers and management, gaining exposure and constant feedback. This position does not require writing software, but exposure to technical concepts helps in building a common understanding of an approach and communicating with stakeholders.
The work done on this project will be demonstrated in the real world. Some periodic travel may be required within the continental US as part of attending meetings and assisting with testing our unmanned vessels. Our team develops and deploys advanced technology solutions that address existing and emerging maritime missions of national importance for a broad range of customers across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, other governmental agencies and commercial clients. Current and future projects span advanced concept and prototype development, low-rate initial production and full-rate production.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience in an Agile Scrum environment, possibly including internship or school project experience
Experience collaborating in a team environment
Coaching, teaching, or otherwise demonstrating leadership skills
Must be able to obtain DoD SECRET security clearance- US Citizenship required
Desired:
Experience with a relevant technical field, such as cybersecurity, object oriented development, or artificial intelligence
Exposure to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Master’s Degree in Software Engineering or a related field
Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,700.00 - $78,000.00 - $105,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
