The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking a Technical Training Manager. The Technical Training Manager will support the design, development, testing, and qualification of a US Army mobile, ground-based weapon system designed to defeat subsonic cruise missiles, unmanned aircraft systems, rockets, artillery, and mortars, and other aerial threats as required.

Primary Responsibilities
The Technical Training Manager will contribute to the development of in-process review briefings, review and comment on, training related documents, plans and draft technical papers, and the OM. The Technical Training Manager will participate in integrated project teams; monitor cost and schedule of projects, participate in project evaluations, respond to customer inquiries and verify product technical quality. The candidate will provide direct support to the Leidos ILS Manager on all technical training efforts, integrate with the systems engineering team, provide advisory and assistance support for cost, schedule, technical quality, and personnel, and attend all scheduled meetings as required. The successful candidate will work with a small team of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) professionals as an embedded part of the overall system design, development, and integration process. The candidate will define training requirements and develop training materials for a fully exportable Training Support Package (TSP). The TSP will include a Program of Instruction, lesson plans, student handouts, tests and answer sheets and multimedia presentations. As a working lead, the candidate will guide and direct the efforts of other team members while creating products for submission to the client. The Technical Training Manager will also be responsible for the review and delivery of an Operators Manual (OM) in accordance with MIL-STD-40051-2. The Technical Training Manager will deliver training and the OM to users in support of government test and qualification events, an Early Abbreviated Demonstration event and a New Equipment Training event. The Training Lead will prepare and conduct new equipment training courses in accordance with AR 350-1, MIL-PRF-29612, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Regulation 350-70 and the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process. As part of a multi-functional, matrixed team, this Technical Training Manager will be responsible for facilitating the entirety of the training program in preparation for design reviews and test events. The Technical Training Manager will oversee the development and implementation of an integrated training program to fully train personnel to operate and maintain the system. The Technical Training Manager will coordinate with Leidos program staff, engineers, and government program and test personnel, to coordinate on-site training in support of test and qualification events. As a manager, the candidate will conduct limited hiring actions as required, establish employee goals and objectives, monitor performance, and facilitate employee recognition activities and incentive programs.
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree with 12 or more years of prior relevant experience OR a master’s degree and 10 or more years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may offset the degree requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience supervising or leading teams and/or projects
- Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Acquire and maintain a Common Faculty Development – Instructor qualification as defined in AR 350-1, TRADOC Regulation 350-70, and TRADOC Regulation 350-18
- Direct experience providing training and programs of instruction for military acquisition programs and programs of record
- Must currently possess an active Secret Clearance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong public speaking and oration skills
- Military podium experience with an emphasis on large group training
- Demonstrated experience working within matrixed teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the ADDIE training approach
- Multimedia instruction development experience
- Direct experience supporting US military missile defense program offices
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $156,000.00 - $210,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
