Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Certified F5 Load Balancing Network Engineer. This role is responsible for the O&M for F5 load balancing systems across multiple sites, networks, and classifications. Duties include the implementation, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrades for existing F5 solutions and new solutions as engineered by the customer’s engineering division. In addition, administrator is responsible for day-to-day monitoring of existing load balanced and reverse proxy customer connections and ensuring customers are informed of expiring PKI server certificates in advance to allow sufficient time for coordination and replacement of certificates to mitigate impact on customers.
Ensure Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance is operational.
Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up
Alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration
Create, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces
Develop, collaborate, and implement technical solutions.
Support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment by minimizing downtime and coordinating authorized service interruptions with mission critical customers.
Develop and update technical solutions, operations, and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center watch personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
Experienced with the day-to-day monitoring and administration of F5’s load balancing appliance.
Knowledge of standards, concepts and tools to effectively monitoring and manage F5 appliances.
Working technical knowledge of backup procedures for load balancing configurations and PKI certificates as well as the ability to restore from backups.
Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting load balanced IP address spaces.
Experience working independently on technical network activities in support of a client.
Experience interfacing with team members on requirements and solutions.
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing systems to track day-to-day work efforts such as Service Now
Candidate must have an F5 Certified Administrator (201 or 301) certification in order to receive administrative permissions on the F5 appliance per customer policy.
Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
Desired Qualifications, but not required for the position:
Experience with managing virtual networking technologies, such as VMware NSX and VMware distributed switches and troubleshooting connectivity errors between F5 load balancers and virtual servers
Familiarity with InfoBlox appliances for management of DNS/DHCP/NTP services and their interaction with F5 load balancers
ITIL certification
Education:
Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, Masters degree with 4 years
Education equivalency of Associate’s with 8 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 10 years of related experience can be used in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
A TS/SCI with Poly is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to get a Poly.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
