Leidos is seeking a VMWare and Windows Systems Administrator in Scott AFB, IL who can perform Windows Server and Desktop administration, VMware administration, scripting, computer hardware configuration, network device
administration, and has working knowledge of IA Security functions / lockdowns and mitigations / and DoD
STIGs. The Systems Administrator will work in both pre-production lab and production environments supporting fast paced and technically challenging systems deployment, maintenance, and integration projects.


Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform administration tasks throughout system lifecycle sustainment support timelines
including integration, testing, documentation and demonstration. The candidate will administer and test systems
and their associated underlying service delivery platforms in accordance with applicable DoD and International
standards and policies; assist maintaining the code and documentation repository for each software release; and
provide IA implementation and sustainment support during software upgrades and patch developments,
integration, analysis, testing, certification, fielding, and operations.

  • Set up, manage and administer server environment including Windows servers and clients, VMware ESXi host and sandbox environments

  • Analyze system faults, troubleshoot and run diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems

  • Evaluate and maintain system documentation and training materials

  • Perform technical analysis of network challenges and problems and be able to implement technical solutions

  • Research, evaluate, integrate, and modify Commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware with COTS and custom software

  • Work independently and as part of a project team responsible for installing, configuring, integrating, and testing systems hardware and software and related enterprise IT and communications systems

  • Consult and evaluate mission requirements and test, integrate and implement associated solutions and install scripts and software during various phases during testing

  • Work closely with the GSMO-II and customer Information Assurance teams to ensure that all systems are compliant with DoD and coalition IA requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 to 4 years of experience in systems administration and scripting; Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Current U.S. Government Secret security clearance

  • Current DoD 8570 compliant certification

  • Experience administrating Windows, VMware and/or sandbox environments

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written

  • Collaborates well with internal and client project team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For long-term prospects, a broad background sysadmin, network administration, operation of secure IT systems and networks, and IT/IA security is preferred.

  • Experience supporting virtualized environments running on Cisco UCS Chassis.

  • Experience in scripting (PowerShell, Windows command line, BASH, etc.)

  • General knowledge of networking (IP Addresses, Gateways, ports, protocols, routers, switches, firewalls)

  • Possess IT Computing Environment certifications such as:

  • MCSE or other Microsoft certification (e.g. Windows Server 2019)

  • VMware Certified Professional

Pay Range:

Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00
