Leidos is hiring a Solutions Engineer to provide technical leadership and support in the areas of information technology (IT) planning, solution specification/design, and target architecture development. The successful candidate will support the 844th Communications Group at three (3) locations - Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and the Pentagon. The candidate will also provide and support solutions on classified and unclassified networks for the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF). The well-qualified candidate will have a strong knowledge of IT and commercial solutions and significant experience designing and developing technical solutions. The preferred candidate has excellent communications skills, strong customer service skills, and experience serving as an advisor to a Chief Architect and/or other senior IT managers.

Responsibilities Include:
Collaborate with other Enterprise Architecture (EA) Team members to document, design, & achieve target architectures
Demonstrate successful systems development experience involving COTS/GOTS integration
Prepare solution packages, documenting recommended technical solutions, estimated costs, and benefits
Identify, assess, and present options for meeting functional and technical requirements, which may include hardware and software updates or upgrades
Produce EA artifacts, including system design diagrams, recommendation justifications, & technical specifications
Design and implement virtualization solutions using validated methodologies
Maintain and upgrade datacenter virtualization, network virtualization, & cloud environments
Define and design solutions to address customer business drivers/requirements and meet service delivery objectives
Help resolve issues while implementing solutions and/or addressing systemic incidents
Lead execution of the full project lifecycle, from planning through implementation to operational readiness
Lead technical discussions, both internally and with customer teams
Provide transparent and regular status updates in requested format
Implement process improvements and provide suggestions for tools, automation, etc.
Maintain core working hours but remain flexible to support after-hours maintenance windows (as necessary)
Provide on-call support and systems engineering expertise when operational issues or outages are escalated (as necessary
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant, technical discipline and 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters degree with 10 years of prior relevant experience.
Active, DoD Secret security clearance
DoD 8570 certification, IAT level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE)
One or more of the following credentials: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CCNP Data Center (CCNP DC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Docker Certified Associate (DCA).
Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
Experience with the following products, technologies, or procedures:
Microsoft Server (e.g., 2012, 2016, 2019)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server
Storage Area Networks (SANs)
Network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, SCOM, vROPS, etc.)
DISA STIGs, Air Force MTOs, TCNOs and other DoD guidance
DoD and/or USAF systems engineering processes and procedures
Project Management principles
Enterprise IT ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy)
VMware virtual environments
Clearance Required:
Requires an active Secret clearance
Pay Range:
Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
