Job Description:
The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking Configuration Management Specialists with strong change management and process improvement skills to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) Interface and Support Processes division within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States.
In this hands on position, you will work collaboratively with multiple agile product teams and CBP stakeholders to help ensure the successful deployment of features developed by the agile product teams. In addition, you will work closely with the agile product teams and CBP stakeholders to identify process improvements to streamline the production deployment process. This position requires coordination of full CM coverage across PSPD applications through internal and external Release Deployments from inception to completion. This encompasses following the PSPD CM processes that include the following roles & responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with CBP to facilitate changes through the governance process to ensure the successful deployment of features to the production environment.
Interface with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology.
Coordinate with CBP and product teams to identify areas within the change management process for possible process improvement.
Submission of initial and updated Change Requests (CR) from the application teams using the Jira application
Detailed documentation with project artifacts including required approvals and concurrences using Confluence
Implementation of successful internal and external deployments
Knowledge of ServiceNow (SNOW) for external CRs
Ensure project teams follow the CBP PSPD CM guidelines
Good communication skills to present multiple CR projects at the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Office of Information and Technology Change Control Board (OIT CCB) gate meetings for approvals to implement into Production, Education and Disaster Recovery environments
Introduce best practices and innovations to help streamline CM processes towards quality and highly maintainable documentation that drive customer satisfaction and compliance
Monitor QA testing progress to ensure releases meet documented quality standards
Support CM process, guidelines, metrics, and tracking of artifacts
Coordinate and schedule the approved environment activity with all parties
Be responsible for the integration of automated builds and build artifacts in collaboration with the test department
Manage the build servers and version control systems
Apply, progress and track changes through Service now (SNOW) and Project Portfolio Management (PPM), the code promotion/install process, into various platform quality assurance, volume test, and production Oracle instances
Coordination and planning to help define and implement Release Management policies and governance
Work with the development and support teams to track and document changes for each release
Effectively manage release communications with internal and external stakeholders
Review Releases for operational readiness
Facilitate post deployment validation process and monitor releases to ensure successful implementation of releases
Execute Release Closure Policy for deployments/releases
Provide coordination and guidance for release related questions and issues
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other closely related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years of relevant experience with Master’s degree; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
Applicants must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a CBP BI public trust clearance prior to start.
4+ years of experience working with clients to facilitate software changes through governance processes
Experience working with clients to streamline governance processes
Experience with agile development methodologies
Experience using the following tools: Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
Preferred Qualifications:
Active CBP BI
Experience with CBP PSPD
Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
