To our valued Leidos candidates:

Coronavirus is on everyone's mind with the effects being felt around the world. The markets are volatile, and we're all concerned for the health and safety of our families, friends, and colleagues. Please know that we're taking all necessary measures to safeguard our employees, customers and the communities in which we live, including following all recommended best practices around social distancing.

In the coming days and weeks, we will be hosting career events virtually, using our online chat tools so that we may continue our hiring practice safely and securely. You can find available virtual career events at https://career-events.leidos.com.

We are using telephone meetings and online chats via Brazen to conduct interviews and hiring discussions, and we are offering options for video interviews so that you can have a virtual face to face meeting with your potential new leader. We do not conduct interviews or extend offers via text or chat based social media, such as WhatsApp or MySpace.

Leidos will never ask you to provide payment-related information at any part of the employment application process, nor will Leidos ever advance money as part of the hiring process. And Leidos will communicate with you only through emails that are generated by Leidos.com automated system. We are confident that, guided by our values and the strength of our community as well as the commitment we have to the important work we do each day, we will find our way through this time together. We will do this with the care and concern for one another and the common good that defines. Please keep those impacted by the virus in your thoughts.

Description

Job Description:

Are you looking for your next “great mission” professionally?  Do you feel like you have more to give, want to learn new skills and be part of a team with a rewarding mission supporting our active military?  Leidos has the perfect job for you!

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable Data Architect to assume a client-facing assessment and guidance role, supporting our $4.3 billion DOD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) program in Vienna, VA, providing the modernization of Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities for the Department of Defense.  The candidate best suited for this position has experience working in Agile environments, SQL server and is comfortable guiding stakeholder interviews and consultations.  Data architects create blueprints for MHS GENESIS data management systems. After assessing federal client’s data sources (internal and external), architects design a plan to integrate, centralize, protect and maintain them. The candidate will be responsible for designing an enterprise data management framework.

The DHMSM program is the DoD’s leading program designed to deploy a modern Electronic Health Record (EHR) system across the United States, and around the globe.  As the Data Architect, the candidate will provide monthly briefings on the use of Big Data architecture frameworks, methodologies and patterns needed to invent the solutions that users are going to ask for, not necessarily tomorrow, but six months from now or even two years from now. Help us drive success within a scrum of empowered technologists. We believe in making a difference, and we value and create an inclusive work culture. Numerous employee backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives make us better decision-makers, problem solvers, and creators. We are changing the face of Data Management, from our diverse staff to the end-solutions we develop, and we are excited to expand our team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Discover untapped architecture components and apply referential architecture content in new and creative ways. Conduct customer and stakeholder assessments. Create monthly briefings that reflect stakeholder reviews and the “functionals” perspective. Ensure successful integration of architectural artifacts and content that yield “value add” business perspectives. Provide business architecture support for integration and reference analytics and business intelligence. This will include inform and mock-up architecture perspectives (reports and alignments/association). Daily activities will include developing findings and suggestions for all data architecture content and inform continued architecture and content maturity. The ideal candidate has experience with mapping/assessing Data Flows and Data Lifecycles, thought leadership and to-be-architectures. The ability to meld new systems with existing warehouse structures and collaborate with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses industry requirements, will be key.

  • Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data will flow through DHMSM

  • Build a unified data infrastructure and deploy atomic patterns, which address the mechanisms for accessing, processing, transforming and consuming data, giving users a way to address data requirements and scope

  • Build an inventory of data needed to implement the architecture

  • Identify and evaluate current data management technologies

  • Research new opportunities for data acquisition

  • Maintain a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures

  • Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS

  • BS degree with 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.

  • US Citizen, with the ability to obtain an ADP IT-II Public Trust based on the minimum of a Tier 3 investigation. Per contract requirements.

  • ETL/ELT approaches and integration technologies like SSIS (Sql Server Integration Services)

  • Strong content knowledge in Data Modeling, Data Marts, and Data Warehouses

  • Prior experience and ability to host guided discussions and create mind maps, SWOT, and TOWS assessment

  • Conceptual and physical database modeling

  • Relational and NoSQL databases

  • VA, DoD or federal contracting experience, preferred

Pay Range:

Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
