Come put your software engineering skills into action! The Leidos Defense Group has an opening for a talented Jr Software Engineer to come join our team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will join a dynamic Agile software team creating simulated driver training software to support the Army. Primary Responsibilities
These are some of the cool things you will be doing:
- Design, develop, document, troubleshoot, and debug software source code using modern software development languages and tools.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within broadly defined parameters.
- Use Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with your teams.
- Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development and testing.
- Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them.
- Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
- Develop maintainable code that matches specification.
- Take ownership of technical problems.
Basic Qualifications
To be successful in this role you must have the following experience/skill sets:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree OR 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with C++/Java/C# and object-oriented programming
- Working knowledge of GTK and GUI interfaces
- Working knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Understanding of software development process fundamentals.
- Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
- Requires US citizenship and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
You'll wow us even more if you have any of the following:
- Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.
- Experience with the Ada programming language
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Windows, VM VirtualBox, LINUX, etc.).
- Familiarity with the DIS and/or CIGI protocols
- Active DoD security clearance.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,700.00 - $78,000.00 - $105,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
