The Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies.

Leidos currently has an opening for a Model Based Systems Engineering Lead, located at Ft. Meade, that provides engineering support to the Department of Defenses’ Fourth Estate customer base, the largest information technology (IT) network in the world.  This position will provide many opportunities to challenge and grow your skills as a System Engineer.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Defense Enclave Services contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ common use information technology systems, personnel, functions and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office. This position is a member of a small team that is responsible for providing the core competency for MBSE, SysML, MBSE processes, and Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM) and MBSE Tool Suite across the DES program. This candidate is expected to be hands-on within the model and MBSE tools.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

Must hold an active Secret clearance or have the ability to obtain an Interim Secret eligibility prior to start. (US Citizenship required)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Establish/Tailor/Adapt the MBSE methodology for the DES contract and champion MBSE across the enterprise for use in all phases of the system lifecycle, from preliminary initiative and concept analysis through operations and maintenance. Develop models of system requirements, architecture/design, interfaces, and simulations using No Magic’s Cameo Systems Modeler (CSM) and suite. (Rhapsody expertise may be accepted, but CSM is preferred).

•Provide foundational patterns and cross-cutting model elements to support creation of “to-be” models to capture the structure, behavior, and configuration settings that help assess the impacts/implications of change.

•Develop model/ MBSE methodology to improve service Migrations cycle time by assessing workflows and reusable patterns.

•Translate systems engineering processes from traditional document-based system engineering efforts to delivery of model-based work products to customers as required.

•Provide input to the DES MBSE Implementation and Style Guide, the MBSE Training Plan, develop training exercises, and train the Team, other DES service providers, and the Government on its application. Develop foundational model elements to support architecture and design of solutions with proven reusable patterns.

•Lead MBSE-related activities as requested (e.g., modeling MBSE processes, developing patterns, test cases, and simulations based on input from domain experts, identifying MBSE tool integration requirements).

•Utilize an agile approach that provides rigor, repeatability, and flexibility to support the needs of stakeholders, including our customer and the DES Program team.

•Apply MBSE methods to create and manage the DODNet System Model, using SysML and aligned with the DoD’s DESMF framework, enabling support of all SE use cases across the systems engineering lifecycle to realize the full potential of MBSE.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

•Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.

•Experience applying MBSE methods, tools, and frameworks to develop rigorous specifications and designs of commercial and/or DoD systems/components.

•Experience applying systems engineering fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.

•Knowledge of MBSE tools such as:

    -No Magic’s Cameo Systems Modeler, Collaborator, Teamwork Cloud.

    -MBSE tools (Magic Draw or Rational Rhapsody).

    -SysML.

•Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

•Must be able to work independently to develop innovative modeling approaches and optimizations.

•Communication skills for interacting with Government customers, colleagues, and senior leadership.

•Travel may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Leadership experience.

•Defense industry experience.

•Familiarity with the following tools: Atlassian JIRA, ServiceNow, Industry Remote Process Automation Tools

Pay Range:

Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00
