Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Creative Design Assistant to support our customer, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) for the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), which is part of the U.S. Department of Justice.
BJS requires a graphic designer / desktop publisher / document specialist who works closely with agency staff to develop and prepare written products for publishing and dissemination using advanced technologies and processes. The designer should be an expert in document layout using Adobe InDesign, able to create statistical graphics in Adobe Illustrator, and have excellent attention to detail and ability to make accurate updates to text and graphics during the production process. BJS produces between 50 and 75 statistical reports annually. The designer maintains a comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of computer hardware and software used by BJS to produce a wide range of informational products. They exercise independent judgment on content placement, graphic design, and table structure to ensure accurate, informative reporting.
Must be proficient in creative and production graphic design, publication layout, and building graphics for social media. Researches, prepares, and disseminates visual information through various communication outlets, including print, digital media outlets, web, and social media. Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities. Must be experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud’s InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other graphic communication applications as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and five years of directly relevant work experience with graphic design, specifically with report layout and accurate displays of information in tables and figures using Adobe Creative Suite.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Location: This is a remote position. The BJS Office is located at 810 Seventh St. NW, Washington, DC.
Security Clearance Required: Candidates must have a Public Trust clearance to start.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $89,000.00 - $120,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
