Leidos is looking for a Middleware Subject Matter Expert (SME) for configuration of middleware infrastructure and platforms at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Duties include performing standard level professional information technology work installing, configuring, and maintaining middleware infrastructure and platforms, and specifying infrastructure components to include physical servers, virtual servers, operating systems, COTS and middleware following IRS standards and ELC requirements.
Work with Developers and Architects in developing middleware configurations based on requirements.
Identify and apply innovative technologies to update existing middleware.
Support the integration of new applications with the IRS eA3 applications
Develop specifications for all middleware solution components following IRS standards and enterprise life cycle (ELC) requirements
Create and maintain documentation for middleware installations, changes and upgrades.
Train Staff/Associate Engineers on middleware updates and new installations.
Perform troubleshooting, incident response, and patching in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in timely and accurate manner to improve application performance and functionality.
Develop and implement strategies for migration, consolidation and upgrade of middleware components.
Develop and implement standard processes for installation, maintenance and enhancement of middleware applications
Contribute to full-lifecycle design, development, testing, and implementation of solutions that manage IRS infrastructure processes and operations, and the associated technical project management
Function as an SME in one or more specific areas of computer system design and networking
Assist in evaluation of COTS products for use in the IRS enterprise
Work directly with the IRS customer and architects in architecture decisions, releases, schedules, and procedures
Oversee the critical functions of the operational environment management, from hardware to middleware to features/functions/application services to end-point design
BS and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience
Proficiency in MS Office, Middleware Management, documentation, Java, JSP (HTML/XML), RESTful Web Services, Cloud, Containers, DevSecOps, Oracle SQL, Linux/RedHat, Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CICD), CA SiteMinder, 508 compliance, IBM Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM), and IBM MQSeries
Experience in Cloud operations such as AWS, GCP and Azure.
Extensive knowledge of industry best practices as articulated by Agile development practices, as well as DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, identity management, ICAM (Identity Credential & Access Management)
Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud based application development
Ability to be cleared by the US Government via a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI)
• Experience working on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment
• Certification in Agile methodology
• Active IRS MBI
Pay Range:Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
