Lead Technical Service Engineer
Permanent role – Based at Schiphol Airport

Are you a Technical Engineer ready to lead a team of engineers/technicians in the service and maintenance of Leidos’ security and detection systems across the Netherlands?
As the Lead Technical Service Engineer for Leidos in the Netherlands, you will provide effective and efficient technical and customer support for our fully integrated security and detection systems used in aviation, ports, borders, and critical infrastructure. You’ll lead a team of engineers/technicians and been an escalation point for service providers.
You’re a problem solver- able to find solutions where others can’t. You can diagnose issues with complex electro-mechanical systems and fix them, often in critical situations where time is not on your side.
You’re a hands on engineer – you’ll be installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing and testing a variety of complex X-ray and CT based equipment such as body scanners and explosive trace detection systems, many of which are integrated into larger systems.
As the Lead Engineer, you’re a mentor and give great guidance. You’ll act as the point of escalation for operations and technical issues, offering technical support to the rest of the team (on site and remotely), service providers and our customers.
You’ll be the conduit of technical information interchange between service provider techs/engineers and Leidos, handling various technical queries, troubleshoot and diagnose problems and providing training in the operation and maintenance of our complex systems. You will also support customers in understanding the full capabilities of the equipment so they get the most out of it.
You’ll take part in planning and delivery planned and preventative maintenance service across the Netherlands, attending regular reviews with customers, ensuring they receive exemplary customer service and support.
This role is based at Schiphol airport but may require some travel across the Netherlands, it is expected that you will need to complete some overtime as required and be part of the on call, out of hours (from home) rota.

About You
Qualified in electrical / electromechanical or electronic engineering
Significant experience in a mechanical/electrical or electronic field service environment.
You will have thorough knowledge of maintaining complex electromechanical systems, such as PLC controlled machinery, X-Ray or CT tech.
Knowledge of complex digital and analogy circuitry.
Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment and experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment preferred but not essential.
Good customer facing skills, providing great service and training on equipment.
Must be available to work weekends, travel throughout the Netherlands at short notice, work non-standard hours, travel on weekends, and assist other field regions outside the Netherlands as required.
