Job Description:
The Government Health and Safety Operation has an opening for a Junior SAS programmer to support a large healthcare contract.
You will help improve our data pipelines, enhance data security, optimize data models and database designs, and write code hands-on to process the data more efficiently and support storage, processing, and analysis of terabytes of personal health information (PHI) across millions of users
You will work with architectures and the CTO team to assess and research technologies, AWS services, and frameworks for our Data, Cloud, & DevSecOps pipelines
Activities for this job include the ability to:
• Employ SAS programming methods for data cleansing, statistical analysis, and reporting.
Managing AWS data stores such as EMR/Hive, Databricks, RDS, Athena, and Redshift, while maintaining data governance, retention policies, and lifecycles
Collecting data access patterns and reviewing current data models to optimize designs for customer use cases
Conduct quality reviews on data sets, SAS programming, and final deliverables to insure efficiency/accuracy.
Manage the documentation of data sets according to industry standards and protocols.
Maintain database and shared repositories for data sets and reports for effective dissemination and communications.
Provide analytic assistance and consultation to the organization's staff, contractors and partners in analyzing data quality.
Perform and track statistical activities and requests as directed by senior staff.
Additional activities include:
• Actively participate in team meetings through sharing ideas and contributing to discussions.
• Prepare data to be used in presentations.
Qualifications:
Excellent trouble-shooting skills and attention to detail
Experience with relational databases and SQL
Experience working in AWS
Strong written and oral communication skills
SAS programming experience
Strong analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently, and work effectively within a team
• Sound writing skills, and ability to clearly communicate information orally and in writing
Education: BS Degree and less than 2 years of experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior in order to be considered.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
