Job Description:

The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a full-time telework Systems Engineer position. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) and Defense Civilian HR Management System (DCHRMS) programs. Both of these programs support large HR data systems for our customer, the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC).

We are looking for an experienced systems engineer to help us provide a broad range of technical services for all DCPDS and DCHRMS systems across production and non-production environments. We want someone who already has the necessary clearance and expertise so they can support the team immediately. Looking for years of hands-on experience performing a wide variety of activities related to system transition such as requirements documentation, system verification, script development and deployment, process management, report generation, account maintenance, audit support, system monitoring, and general troubleshooting on complex software systems. The candidate must already hold an active investigation (Tier 5) in order to be adjudicated to the IT-I level Position of Trust, an active Security+ certification, and at least two years of experience with SQL databases and Microsoft Office products. They must also be willing to work and weekends when necessary. This position will report to the DCPDS/DCHRMS Application Support Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Daily coordination with users, customers, and technical teams

  • Documentation of functional requirements and test cases

  • Verification of system releases, upgrades, and migrations

  • Generation of standard operating procedures

  • Scheduling of automated jobs

  • Writing and deploying scripts

  • Creation and maintenance of user accounts

  • Generation of reports as needed by users, customers, and auditors

  • Continuous monitoring of complex HR systems

  • Troubleshooting user and system issues

  • Deliverable support for security audits

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience

  • Holds an active investigation (Tier 5) in order to be adjudicated to the IT-I level Position of Trust

  • Active Security+ certification

  • At least two years of experience creating and deploying SQL scripts and data files

  • Previous experience with Oracle US Federal Human Resources (R12)

  • Previous experience with system requirements, testing, and audits

  • Willing to work nights and weekends

  • Ability to learn quickly and train others

  • Good at multitasking

  • Good attention to detail and meets deadlines

  • Regularly demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness

  • Can handle new tasks and projects independently

  • Can juggle multiple support roles depending on needs of systems, customers, and technical team

  • Collaborates well with functional and technical stakeholders

  • Excellent communicator

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
