Leidos, a FORTUNE® 500 science and technology leader, was recently awarded the Advanced Enterprise Global Information Technology Solutions (AEGIS) contract by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to provide telecommunications, cloud and data center services across all of the agency's centers and facilities. The $2.5 billion contract includes a 10-year period of performance if all options and award terms are exercised.
We are excited to announce our opening for a Senior Material Project Manager on our Material Operations & Strategy team in the Huntsville, AL area! The role of the Material Project Manager (MPM) ) will include, but not limited to, working as liaison between program engineering and sourcing organization, identifying and mitigating program risks and opportunities as they pertain to material requirements; reporting/tracking all program material bailment activities; assisting program in achieving program material budget objectives; participating in program purchase requirements from engineering perspective; participating in sourcing process improvement projects (both Supply Chain and Program); resolving Supply Chain issues for the program and resolving program material cost problems.
The Senior Material Project Manager will report to the Manager, Material Project Manager and will serve as a deputy for supply-chain related support to the program. The Senior Material Project Manager will manage all activities associated with researching and recommending cost-effective purchase arrangements and work closely with the Material Planner organization to ensure the review of purchase requisitions for clarity, compliance, detail, completeness, regulatory compliance and obtain additional information considered necessary. Furthermore, this person will also work with the Supply Chain Engineers to actively manage the procurement process life cycle management of the supply chain that impact the Customer systems. Some travel may be required up to 10%.
Primary Responsibilities
-Material schedule management to include forecasting, facilitating / reporting with goods receipts and supplier invoices payment along with developing supply chain strategies.
-Project management including requirements justification, planning, executing and evaluating the project.
-The MPM articulates to senior leaders/personnel the value, schedule and decision points that impact the efficient delivery of specific commodities (hardware and software).
-The MPM plays an integral part in the approval process in procurements.
-The MPM will use critical thinking skills to propose sound and innovative business solutions to increase operational efficiencies to ensure business area and program success.
-This individual should be a self-starter and someone that is flexible and is able to work independently at a higher level.
Basic Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4+ years of prior relevant professional experience or Master’s degree 2+ years of prior relevant experience (Ex: BS in IT Mgt, BS in Supply Chain, MBA)
-3+ years of applicable experience in areas of project planning, scheduling, coordination, with a demonstrated history of developing technical solutions that meet program requirements. MUST possess background in Technology.
-Strong understanding in acquisition of IT HW, IT SW, Cloud, Cyber, and XaaS technologies
-Experience with supplier coordination including hardware and software selection, maintenance issues, and problem resolution.
-Demonstrated experience interfacing across multiple organizations and program levels simultaneously with minimal supervision.
-Ability to multi-task and work under tight time constraints.
-Experience as a Team Lead in prior relevant assignment.
-Strong written and oral communications skills at all levels both internally and externally with customers and suppliers
-Working knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
Preferred Qualifications
-NASA access / credentials
-PMP and/or supply chain and procurement certifications
-Strategic thinking ability with tactical application of strategies for program execution
-Strong understanding of US Government acquisition laws and regulations (FAR)
-PowerBI or equivalent experience preferred
-Logistics, Warehouse, and Transportation
-Ability to obtain a clearance is a plus
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
