We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Material Planner who is seeking a position in a dynamic environment. Under moderate supervision, the Planner is responsible for activities that span the entire planning and procurement cycle.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Materials Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and carrying out the accurate planning and forecasting on ongoing projects, to fully assess and understand the project requirements and specification, clarifying and resolving any areas of concern and to develop comprehensive and factual planning and resource analysis.
Key responsibilities will involve
Working with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure inquiries are addressed for service orders, projects or programs.
Research and communicates production and delivery schedules.
Conduct bill of material review and analysis.
Work with Product Line Management, Service Technical Support, Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering on end of life (EOL) item lifecycle.
Maintain reports and monitor material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
Support the purchase requisition process, monitors progress and communicates the proper routing throughout the materials management and sourcing process.
Conducts follow-up with buyers, planners and requestors regarding completion of open requisitions, rework or updates as required.
Coordinate product requirements planning with Service and Program Management partners.
Basic Qualifications
HND/HNC or an equivalent qualification in a related engineering discipline, you’ll already have a thorough understanding of material planning and MSP tools, together with relevant experience gained from within a continuous automotive, production line or material/baggage handling environment, in addition to:
Knowledge of Manufacturing & Automation methods and processes
Detailed project planning on baggage/materials handling, manufacturing and installation methods
Understanding of project costs such as design, management, installation
Basic/intermediate AutoCAD, for reviewing layouts/drawings or similar packages
Competent in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Great organization and communication skills
Attention to detail
Positive attitude and a willingness to progress into tasks of greater responsibility
Must be a UK/EU Citizen
Although the role is to be based from our Bedford hub, the successful candidate may be required to regularly travel to other locations within the UK and worldwide, therefore a valid passport and full UK/EU driving licence is mandatory.
Please Note: - This role will be based in Bedford, UK and suitable candidates will need to be within commuting distance of our Bedford facility.
