More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support related efforts for SMIT, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver provide cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Through the use of Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.  The successful candidate will support engineering Security solutions related to systems integration for Navy SMIT.

What You'll Get to Do:
The Cyber Security Engineer will participate in activities related to the integration of security architecture & engineering efforts into the IT lifecycle. The candidate will participate in new task orders to ensure Cyber concepts are considered within the design and architecture phases. The candidate will participate in technical planning, design, development, integration, verification and validation of Cyber Security solutions in support of the SMIT contract.

•Test and evaluate new/updated end point products before approval.
•Review Statement of Objectives (SOOs) for new projects and contribute to estimates for the Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
•Lab ticket queue management.
•Build and develop artifacts to support the RMF process. 
•Provide technical knowledge/expertise to support the design and implementation of system components/subsystems.
•Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach to provide solutions.
•Resolve requests for assistance in troubleshooting issues.
•Participate in the planning of upgrades, replacement, configuration, and maintenance of security architecture and engineering projects. 
•Support the engineering of solutions that provide secure, effective, and efficient operation of systems, architecture, and topology. 
•Participate in new and existing IT modernization, expansion, and improvement of security architecture and engineering projects for the NMCI network. 
•Analyze process improvement areas/recommend changes to processes/procedures for efficiencies/cost-savings.
•Significant collaboration and coordination with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
•Comply with ITSM processes and procedures.
•Comply with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance.
•Comply with Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Require B.S. Degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience in order to operate within the scope contemplated by the level. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
•Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret clearance to start the program.
•Experience with DoD and Enterprise Deployments. 
•Experience implementing DISA STIGs and adhering to other IA requirements. 
•Experience with Basis of Estimates (BOE). 
•Proven experience supporting Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and associated IA processes, procedures, and activities with capability and expertise to implement DoDD 8530.1, DoDD 8500.2, DoDI 8510.1, DoDI 8510.01 and other applicable NIST and CNSS IA directives, instructions, guidelines.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Practical lab environment experience.
•Ticketing systems experience such as Remedy, HPSM, ServiceNow.
•Familiarity with DISA STIG and U.S. Cyber Command OPORD requirements.
•Experience with Microsoft and Linux Server Operating Systems.
•Experience with Cloud Engineering and Agile/Scrum.
•Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments.
•Experience with requirements analysis and/or architecture synthesis and design.
•Experience applying systems engineering fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
•Experience in collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internal and external to resolve complex technical issues.
•Security+ or other applicable certification to meet DoD requirements. 

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
