The Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies and is current seeking a VMWare Horizon Engineer to work at Ft. Meade, MD.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The Defense Enclave Services contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ common use information technology systems, personnel, functions and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office.  The VMWare Horizon Engineer will support a large federal agency’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the environment. 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: 
•Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Support the Business Technology Infrastructure team to apply VDI systems technology solutions in support of identified business problems.
•Responsible for analysis, administration, and support of VMWare Horizon View VDI, thin clients, and other VDI-related technology.
•Provision servers including: adding, allocating and managing vDisks for end-user devices.
•Participate in evaluation, selection, implementation and on-going support of software, hardware and tools used by the Enterprise Infrastructure platform
•Respond to End User requests for technical support and assistance within established procedures.
•Provide operational support for Active Directory, Windows Server, and other Microsoft Application Servers.
•Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems and responds to escalated requests for technical assistance.
•Assists in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures. 
•Responsible for Software Packaging and Patching.
•Provide support to team members with the tools, knowledge, and support documentation required to support enterprise architecture
•Have flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
•Experience in IT Infrastructure and Virtualization including: 
    •VMware vSphere 6.5
    •VMware Horizon View 7.x
    •Storage Solutions
    •Windows Server
    •Active Directory
•ServiceNow experience.
•Security+ CE or IAT Level II certification is required prior to start.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Creation of golden images w/ automation of image creation
•Application Elevation/Blocking conceptual knowledge
