The Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies and currently has an opening for an experienced Staff Systems Solutions Engineer located at Ft. Meade, MD.
The Defense Enclave Services contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ common use information technology systems, personnel, functions and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office. Your role is critical to the overall operational and end User Experience (UX) as automation capabilities impacts each user across the global enterprise.
•Must hold an active Secret clearance prior to start. (US Citizenship required)
•Evaluate architectures and processes for opportunities for meaningful and measurable improvements.
•Participate in Due Diligence and Site Survey activities across a breadth of technologies and services.
•Create workflow diagrams documenting performance area service value chains & technology mission threads to identify service delivery hand-offs and bottlenecks.
•Develop and reviews Technical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and other deliverables.
•Work across organizational lines to provide technical input across contract deliverables.
•Support development of product/service roadmaps.
•Present and advocate for the design and value of a proposed solution with business case to customer stakeholders.
•Continued learning about VMware Tanzu products through self-study, collaboration with peers, and organizational training.
•Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
•5+ years hands-on experience designing or implementing solutions.
•Understanding of cloud-native design and agile software delivery principles.
•Experience presenting technology solutions to small and large audiences.
•Analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps.
•Effective in working both independently and in a team setting.
•Breadth of knowledge across a variety of technologies to include Cloud solutions, Automation (e.g. RPA tools), Monitoring Tools, Routing/Switching, Security, and Application development (Jack/Jill of all technologies, Master of Some, with technical writing skills).
•Familiar with DevSecOps and ITIL processes and technologies.
•Business case development supporting technology solutions.
•Intermediate to advanced technical certifications and hands-on experience across multiple technology domains (e.g. Routing, Servers, Storage, Security, Application development, etc.).

Pay Range:Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
