We are in search for a Windows System Administrator to work at our customer site at the National Maritime Intelligence Center, Suitland, MD. In this role you will provide specialized Cyber Security and Information Technology (IT) support for IT resources and users, underpinning Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) analysis and production across the Farragut Technical Analysis Center at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI).
Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, and a current Security+ to be considered!
THE MISSION
Support and maintain Farragut Specialized Mission IT Systems, to include support to several FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER (TAC) COMPONENTS. Naval Platforms Department (TAC-2) and Naval Weapons Department (TAC-3) which leverages Specialized Engineering Tools to create Parametric and Engineering Model content persisted as eXtensible Mark-up Language (XML). Engineers use C&P data to create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models at several levels of fidelity (external wireframe, external skin features, internal structure, internal equipment/components, et al). More detailed CAD modeling requires very high-end workstations with highly accelerated graphics cards for rendering. The Farragut Technical Analysis Center’s Foreign Materiel Exploitation Division (FME) in TAC-3 uses a range of Windows and Macintosh (MAC) Information Technology (IT) assets. FME systems support laboratory equipment such as microscopes, X-rays, network analyzers, schematic generation, electronics analysis, electrical modeling/simulation, 3D laser scanning, CAD modeling, graphics and video software, visual displays, and report production.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
•Responsible for the System Administration for TAC Windows Mission Applications, including the installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. These responsibilities include management of systems infrastructures, identifying and implementing best practices and recommending system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure and implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.
•Coordinate across IT domains and multiple teams (internal and external) and influence Farragut leadership regarding solution design, process and/or approaches to ensuring all Windows systems are up-to-date, working efficiently and ensure all mission requirements are met.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
•Trouble Call Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve trouble calls within prescribed timelines.
•Use of Remedy AR System: Ensure every trouble call and every change request involving Mission Computers, Mission Systems, or Mission Applications is in the Remedy AR system.
•Change Request Implementation: Complete the implementation of all Mission asset Change Requests approved by the appropriate Government Functional Lead within the prescribed timelines.
•Configuration Management: Establish, document, and maintain complete system configuration and inventory of all Mission IT assets.
•Change Management: Provide written recommendations to update Mission Applications prompted by events such as OS updates, other software updates, or requests from users.
•Notice of Expiring Warranty or Maintenance: Provide written notice of impending expiration of all hardware extended warranty or software maintenance and technical support agreements.
•Lifecycle Replacement of Hardware: Analyze systems, and provide a white paper with written recommendations and specifications for the replacement of all system hardware prior to its planned end of life date.
•Desktop Support: Repair, replace, and service desktop computers, laptops, and computer peripherals associated Farragut Specialized IT not under the care of Hopper Information Services Center.
WHAT SETS YOU APART (minimum job qualifications)
•A related Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of related work experience; additional years of related work experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
•3+ years’ experience with MS Windows Server (2003-2016), and MS Active Directory
Professional experience must include the following:
•Windows migrations and Active Directory upgrades
•Managing MS AD to include implementation of GPOs to support the implementation of STIG settings on file and print services, DNS, Domain Controllers and application servers
•Managing Windows systems, including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Window Server 2012, to include 2012 STIG deployment
•Hardening Windows operating systems to STIG compliance
•Experience/awareness of SCCM methodologies
•Understanding of principles of routing client/server programming
•Understand the business application of technical support and design in an application development environment.
•Strong hands-on aptitude in performing administration functions such as installations and configurations, migrations, etc.
•Up to 10% of travel may be required
