Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide DoD Network Information Center (NIC) support which will include design and programming support for DNS hardening and supporting registration procedures for use by the DOD NIC and .mil Domain Name Systems users. In this role your will develop and implement the design of Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC), as part of DNS hardening, in support of the global g-Root and .mil generic Top Level Domain (gTLD).
Primary Responsibilities:
Providing systems programming support to the DoD NIC, with design and implementation of on-line registration templates for the collection and automated processing of encryption keys, hashing records, registry contact information, and host record data used in the management and announcement of DNS hardening data in the .mil zone.
Provide systems programming support to the DoD NIC, with design and implementation of the following:
On-line registration templates for the collection and automated processing of encryption keys, hashing records, registry contact information, and host record data used in the management and announcement of DNS hardening data in the .mil zone.
On-line registration templates and registration system modifications in support of new customer requirement projects approved by the DISN Infrastructure Executive or introduced by architecture changes resulting from DNS hardening initiatives.
Central Key/Hash Repository for the tracking and management of DNSSEC data for all domain levels using .mil.
Central registry and automated DNSSEC signing processes for the DoD-owned .mil domains.
Automated DNSSEC zone signing process into the existing automated DNS zone generation and central registry toolset.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and12+ years of professional experience; or 10+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Must hold an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance
Experience with the implementation and configuration of BIND servers
Experience with RedHat Linux system programming
Senior level experience with PHP, Perl, shell scripting
Experience with Ansible or other IT automation tools
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with enterprise level architecture design and development
Experience with container technologies
Experience with multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C, Java, etc.)
Good Debugging Skills and troubleshooting skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
