We are in search of a Systems Administrator to join our Mission Partner Environment Services (MPE-S) program to provide on-site support at Fort Meade, MD. As the Systems Administrator, you will organize and direct the configuration and operation of information management systems.

What You'll Be Doing:
You will provide daily system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance. Conduct capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations. Increase system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develop system administrator procedures, and conduct system administrator training and skills assessment.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting hardware/software PC problems
Provides Tier 1 and 2 support for troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems, to include Windows Operating Systems, Cisco Routers and Switches, Juniper Firewalls and Type 1 in-line encryptors
Manages trouble tickets throughout the ticket lifecycle, ensuring prompt resolution of issues, accurate updates, and customer satisfaction
Generate monthly metrics for tickets to track ticket volume, MTTR and other statistics that may be requested by the customer
Apply and verify monthly Windows patching of Operating Systems
Run SCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) scans and perform manual STIG checklists on all systems
Provides continuous monitoring of network health and systems availability with SolarWinds monitoring software
Generate reports from SolarWinds to track historical trends and assist in the analysis of possible improvements
Works in a 24x7 operations environment, receiving detailed shift reports upon starting a shift, and providing an updated detailed shift report to the following shift.
Execute systems health checks on all systems for the shift reports
Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to leadership and internal customers
Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering) with 7 years of direct experience in the last 10 years. With at least fifteen years of general experience of which ten years is directly related experience, a degree is not required.
Due to contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Must hold an active and current DOD Secret/SSBI clearance and be eligible to obtain TS/SCI eligibility
Position requires a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
Technical certification: Microsoft/OS, VMware, CCNA, Juniper, or SolarWinds certification
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL Foundations certificate (v3 or ITIL 4)
Experience managing a Windows environment, including but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
VMWare Experience
Understanding of Cisco routing and switching
Strong experience in system hardening, patching and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides
Certifications in Windows and/or VMWare
MPES
Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
