The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer III, a successful candidate will have a proven track record in providing holistic solutions for our customers. Candidate should have at least 4+ years of Windows Systems Engineering, software installation and integration experience. Engineer will maintain systems in production and provide support (patching, STIGs, troubleshooting, etc.). Selected candidate will be assisting a small team of Systems Engineers supporting our customers’ requirements and running Production and Development systems. Candidate should have experience as a database administrator. Possess experience with database standards, management and end user applications, as well as, knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and familiarity with SQL. Participation in requirements analysis and design, development of test data for system regression. Candidate should be experienced with Windows server technology, including Active Directory roles and group policy. Understanding of virtualization technologies, networking principles, DoD information assurance requirements and STIG checklists is expected. There will be daily interaction with the team, customers and our Government representatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the Windows desktop and server image processes from build to deployment, including meeting with customer to modify image as needed, working with Information Assurance (IA) Teams to implement DISA STIGs, patches and any software updates, tracking all changes and updating baseline documentation and notifying Task Order and customer leadership of any changes to the images.
Manage the baseline process of all images, including keeping track of remaining assets to be deployed, both customer and Task Order, troubleshooting with the customer on any issues arising from deployment, instruction of all staff about the deployment process and updating all documentation related to deployment for Task Order and customer assets.
Installation and troubleshooting of Task Order and customer software, including an understanding of licenses needed, including going through process of purchasing licenses or requesting trial licenses for testing.
Create or edit scripts to support the management of systems and tools
Develop and maintain standard documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures and processes.
Perform daily system monitoring, server integrity checks, storage and archiving processes, review system and application logs, and verify scheduled job completion.
Report on any issues found to government and Task Order leadership, along with any solutions or courses of action to resolve issues.
Lead MS SQL Server environment support effort, including review of application and event logs.
Present solutions to greater technical problems to Task Order leadership. Solutions should show an understanding of not only the technical issues but also financial requirements (i.e. licenses).
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Current DoD Secret Clearance.
Current, unexpired, Comptia Security+CE or AIT level II equivalent
Microsoft Windows desktop and server experience administration / engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Microsoft 2016 or 2019 SQL database operations to include, installation, daily administration and STIGs.
Windows Operating Systems 2016 or 2019.
PowerShell scripting experience a plus.
Microsoft Group Policy (GPO) updates, creation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Active Directory management.
Maintain security posture including patching, scanning, updating.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
