Leidos is seeking a Computer Programmer II/Software Engineer to support intramural human use research at the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton, OH. The successful candidate will provide computer programming and software engineering in support of aeromedical research focused on enhancing the performance, resilience, and wellness of service members to optimizing warfighter performance in the most trying environments.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and test programming code for computerized experimental tasks in support of research activities.
Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of software applications in support of research activities as necessary.
Troubleshoot system bugs and issues.
Develop user manuals, procedures, and guidelines. Any and all publications are subject to review and approval by the Government.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar and 2+ years of experience OR Master's degree in a relevant field OR High School and 8+ years of experience
Proficiency in programming languages including C++, Qt, C#
Experience in:
Game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, or Godot Engine)
Basic networking development technologies (UDP and TCP/IP)
Multi-threaded applications
Both Windows and Linux based development or an understanding of cross-platform development concepts and standards.
Git for version control
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance
US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Flight simulation (X-Plane) and Industry Simulation-Visualization (CIGI, DIS, etc.) is highly desired
Experience in a military or medical research environment
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
