Job Description:
Leidos Corporate Group has an opening for a Data Center Operations Specialist to join our CIO Services team in the Dallas Texas area. In this role, you will work on a team of data center engineers and be responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of various data center devices including servers, routers, switches, PDUs, and other equipment used within the data center. Additionally, you will assist in creating, updating, as well as following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Change Control Processes and Standards. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and daily within ticketing systems, providing clear, timely, and appropriate customer communications. Selected candidate will periodically join call bridges to troubleshoot and validate infrastructure related issues, and support 3rd party vendor activities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience in network / systems administration, including virtual server management / deployment.
Have a strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skills.
US citizenship is required, and the applicant must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Understand overall ticket management process.
Working knowledge of computer hardware, and physically able to assist in moving and racking equipment.
Understanding of networking components and infrastructures, patch panels, and familiarity with cable management with knowledge of how to run fiber and copper in a data center.
Able to operate material handling equipment such as server lifts and pallet jacks.
Must be willing to work occasional evening and weekends as required.
Must be willing to travel as required. Travel is expected to be minimal (~10%).
Establish and enhance strong working relationships with various internal teams and external suppliers.
Ability to demonstrate effective team and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with virtual teams in geographically diverse areas.
Solid time-management and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Windows and Linux/UNIX servers.
Prior experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM tool.
Experience with VMWare.
Understanding of console cables, basic network commands, and SSH/Telnet clients such as Putty or Secure CRT.
Relevant IT certifications in network, cloud computing, or computer systems.
Previous experience working in a complex high availability data center environment.
Working knowledge of data center processes and design (power, cooling, redundancy).
Experience with a Data Center asset management (DCIM) solution.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $42,250.00 - $65,000.00 - $87,750.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
