The Leidos Civil Group is seeking a dynamic Writing and Editing Support person to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team.
The position will be supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) NISC support team with the goal of providing outstanding customer service to the FAA.
The Candidate will provide support to the Administrative Services Group, Management Support Team. Support consists of procedures and response performance to the Secretary of Transportation, FAA Administrator, ATO Chief Operations Officer, ATO Vice Presidents, and Regional Administrators with Congressional Inquiries, Briefing Papers, Hotline Complaints, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and Privacy Act including research, editing, and preparation of written responses from open source/public information in accordance with all applicable FAA writing standards and guidelines. The candidate will Track and analyze data/information to ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures, develop reports supporting management initiatives. Provide tracking and coordination for all written material, including correspondences, internal memoranda, reports, and responses with internal and external customers.
The candidate will provide editorial support for the team and perform rewrites to submitted drafts and official documents. Use Plain language and best practices for correspondence writing and accuracy. Write and edit communications intended for a variety of audiences to include: Congressional correspondences, Administrator Hotline complaints, Safety Hotline complaints, general correspondences, and briefing papers.
Will provide support developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the team and participate on employee workgroups to provide strategic input for workplace improvement.
Basic Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree with 2 to 4 years of related experience.
- Must be proficient using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project as well as database management applications. In addition, must know how to navigate the internet as a data gathering and communication tool.
- Strong experience in writing and editing a variety of materials such as research reports, controlled correspondence, reports, briefing papers specific to the needs and knowledge of the target audience while applying grammar, punctuation, style, accuracy and format requirements.
- Good time management skills to be able to manage projects and work activities in accordance with milestones and goals.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $52,650.00 - $81,000.00 - $109,350.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
