The NASA End User Services and Technologies (NEST) Program is seeking a Business Process Analyst to identify, develop, implement and measure business process innovations that make a direct impact on our ability to deliver efficient and qualify IT services to our end users.  In this role, you will work alongside technical architects, IT service delivery managers, and systems engineers to develop and document process improvements and implement new technologies where applicable to drive efficiencies resulting in superior services to our NASA customer.  Reporting to the Program Chief Engineer, you will engage daily with management and other project stakeholders to elevate existing processes to excellence and beyond. 

This position is responsible for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of existing business processes and developing sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. Duties include researching best business practices within and outside the organization, collecting and analyzing process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced delivery, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Duties may include determining how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.

To successfully blend IT solutions with business objectives, a Business Process Analyst must possess a strong business acumen as well as technical knowledge.  Strong leadership and communications skills are a must.  These skills will be important for steering the overall process of identifying key business objectives, examining current business processes for improvement, recognize automation opportunities and applying IT solutions for enhancing delivery to our customer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Investigate current practices and lead brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for areas to improve current IT implementations to business processes.
  • Identify areas where new technologies can further support business goals.
  • Work with service delivery and operational teams to develop and implement scalable solutions and products.
  • Communicate and consult with clients and internal program stakeholders to identify and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare senior-level presentations that communicate the as-is and the to-be states and clearly demonstrate business value to be gained from an improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT Management or other related technical focus with an emphasis in Business or Management and 8-12 years prior relevant experience.  Additional years’ experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

ITIL v4 Specialist Certification

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

Business Process Management

Service Management

Preferred Qualifications

ITIL v4 Strategist Certification

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

ServiceNow Certifications in one or more of the following:

  • IT Service Management
  • Event Management
  • Project Portfolio Management
  • Software Asset Management
  • Hardware Asset Management

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $111,000.00 - $149,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
