The MSFC Engineering Support team at MSFC currently has an opening for a System Administrator III at NASA’s MSFC office in Huntsville, AL. This is a great opportunity to be involved with NASA and the upcoming missions for the Space program. In this mission we will be supporting NASA Earth observations and data retrieved from NASA satellites.
Primary Responsibilities
The applicant will be required to perform System Administration duties on Linux and/or Windows Servers and workstations. Operating system upgrades are a required skill with abilities to patch and harden Operating Systems against cyber-attacks. Data export and import skills are needed to support the NASA IMPACT project. The applicant must be able to schedule and perform backups and restores of data when needed. Other duties will be added as projects progress through the life cycle.
Basic Qualifications
The candidate must have a BS Degree or equivalent experience and 5 to 10 years in applicable experience with Server System Administration. The candidate must have performed Operating System hardening, data backups and understand log messaging for many different systems. Knowledge and basic understanding of Cloud service providers such as AWS, AZURE and GCP are needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments is a plus.
Ability to do basic data mining of large data sets is a bonus.
An ability to interact well with teammates and NASA is needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
