Job Description:
Leidos has an opening for a Special Security Officer in Salt Lake City, Utah. Candidates must possess a current TS/SCI in order to be considered. The candidate will implement and provide guidance to customers and management on security issues such as security education, classified document control, security investigations, classification control, and personnel clearances.
Study, investigate, prepare reports and/or recommend preventative or corrective actions in areas requiring specific expertise. Maintain applicable SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to adequately discharge SSO duties and responsibilities. Ensure SCI is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, and safeguarded.
Ensure SCI is destroyed by authorized means.
Ensure SCI is disseminated only to persons authorized access to the material and having an established need-to-know.
Serve as the official channel for certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances/accesses.
Conduct SCI personnel, information, physical, and technical security (TEMPEST/ TSCM) actions.
Provide guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests.
Conduct SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, and debriefings; obtain signed Nondisclosure Agreements; and perform other related personnel security actions.
Investigate SCI security infractions, making corrective recommendations, and preparing required reports.
Conduct continuing SCI security education training and awareness program to ensure all SCI indoctrinated individuals are kept apprised of the requirements and guidelines for protecting SCI.
Ensure appropriate accreditation documentation is available for each SCIF and communications/automated information systems under the organization's security cognizance.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or formal military training as a security specialist
Minimum of 6 years related experience with 5 years of direct experience as a Special Security Officer
Active TS-SCI Clearance
MEAD access preferred
Ability to work independently in an operational environment. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of a full range of security principles, concepts, practices, products and services; methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability; implementing mitigating improvement; and disseminating security procedures/processes.
Interpret Director of National Intelligence, Defense Intelligence Agency, and DoD directives and provide technical advice and guidance on SCI personnel, physical and information security standards.
Highly Desired:

-- Industrial, physical, personnel (JPAS) security experience
-- SCIF management/operations
-- Some on-call hours (including nights/weekends) expected (up to 10 hrs/month)
-- DSS SCI management training attended
-- ICD 705 experience
Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $89,000.00 - $120,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
