Leidos is seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Projects Manager (Senior) who will be responsible for managing the cost, schedule, and performance of Government projects supporting the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR). The successful candidate will manage issues, risks, and change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Project Manager (PM) will support the 844th Communications Group at three (3) locations - Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and the Pentagon. The PM will also provide and support solutions on classified and unclassified networks for the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF). The preferred candidate has excellent communications skills, strong customer service skills, and experience serving as an advisor to a PM Lead and/or other senior IT managers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage small, medium, and large-scale projects

  • Integrate all functions and activities necessary to ensure the project/program meets client/customer requirements

  • Direct project team members, manage cost and schedule, ensure contract compliance, and serve as customer interface

  • Manage technical aspects, costs, and schedule of assigned tasks or functions

  • Provide strong, proactive, and assertive leadership while engaging multi-discipline teams and responding to business needs

  • Make decisions at the project team-level and properly escalate issues that cannot be resolved timely

  • Lead team members (e.g., executives, subject matter experts, controllers, schedulers, etc.) through the project lifecycle

  • Manage project teams that typically include multiple vendors and work centers

  • Create project management plans, set expectations, and ensure plans are driven by organizational procedures

  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop project scope, objectives, goals, and deliverables

  • Ensure requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed, and approved per organizational/program standards

  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and remain in scope; monitor and track project dependencies

  • Create a work breakdown structure defining all activities required for project deliverables

  • Manage project budget - maintain financial plan, track actuals vs. plan, provide monthly forecasts, report monthly accruals

  • Create/deliver high-quality, informative, written/verbal project communications, including weekly project status, dashboards, and updates

  • Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, attainment of established milestones, and overall project quality

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Management of Information Systems (MIS), or similar degree and 6 + years of prior relevant experience or Masters degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Active, DoD Secret security clearance

  • DoD 8570 certification, IAT level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 credential

  • Solid understanding of Project Management and Project Management Office

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships, and external networks

  • Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and work effectively in a collaborative/team environment while keeping the team informed

  • Excellent customer interaction skills

  • Excellent research, decision-making, and organization skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project management tool

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and adherence to data protection/other guidelines where appropriate

Clearance Required:

  • Requires an active Secret clearance

Pay Range:

Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
