Leidos is looking to fill a Systems Engineer – Linux Engineer within the Analysis Solutions Division (ASD) to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC).   This position Lead the design implementation, and administration of Linux (Red Hat) in virtualized environments (AWS). Provide all customer-facing aspects for Linux/Unix infrastructure operations across multiple production and non-production environments, major incident management, day-to-day operational support, and end-to-end customer relationship management. Includes all service management capabilities to ensure IT Operations is meeting KPI and SLA service level requirements across the environment. The Customer utilizes an Agile Framework to plan and successfully complete all initiatives. The work location is in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed Linux systems and infrastructure
• Configure, install, and maintain Linux computer systems in a stand-alone and networked environment
• Working with Linux systems (RHEL), virtualization (VMware), and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
• Performing scans and remediating vulnerabilities in Linux and Windows environments
• Develop and produce documentation, SOPs, reports, and presentation slide decks
• Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences (both contractor and federal government employees)
• Establish and maintain strong relationship with government customer

Basic Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree 
• Experience supervising others
• Experience with Linux system administration – including testing building/provisioning large-scale physical and/or virtual environments
• Experience with system automation software (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot issues within virtualized Linux/Windows environments
• Experience with system automation software (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience updating, testing, and validating changes to system PXE Boot, Kickstart, and YUM repo based on updates and patches
• Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscription manager
• Experience configuring rsyslog to forward logs to aggregation server
• Solid scripting skills (e.g. shell scripts, Perl, Python)
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives
• Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results
• Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification)

Clearance

• TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required
• US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CompTIA Linux+ or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification
• AWS Certification or experience with cloud computing web services providing distributed computing processing capacity and software tools via AWS server farms.
• Relevant NMEC focused experience or agency knowledge
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with troubleshooting within a security environment
