Leidos is currently sourcing candidates for a CBRNE Senior Field Technician to support Security Engineering Programs (SEP) within Homeland Security Solutions in Northern Virginia.

The CBRNE Senior Field Technician will serve as the lead representative for our deployment support group tasked with the upkeep and service of all deployment assets as well as the organization, delivery and recovery during customer directed missions.

Successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the service of each instrument and should have a strong background in gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and thermal desorption. 

Candidate will be required to ensure all instrumentation is operation and in service, capable of deployment within 48 hours of notification. Candidate will work in close cooperation with our network engineers to test the deployment suite before each mission.

Successful candidate will maintain one hundred percent accountability of all equipment and will document deployments as well as service requirements. Candidate should be meticulous in documentation as well as planning and organization.

Successful candidate will possess basic knowledge of DOT regulations, including transportation of hazardous materials and compressed gas handling. Candidate should be comfortable driving box trucks up to twenty-six feet.

Desired Experience:
• Past military experience in working with Chemical, Biological and Radiological equipment is a plus

• Basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes CBRNE experience (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Explosive) (preferred)
• Emergency Response Background

• HAZWOPER Certification (preferred)

• CDL or CMV

• Forklift operator

Primary Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Apply knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations of equipment and systems.
• Use ingenuity in the application of shop and trade practices to solve operating and repair problems.
• Maintain service and logistics records
• Safe storage and transportation of instrumentation and equipment
• Periodic network and response testing
• Learn and observe all appropriate safety precautions as required, including, but not limited to, OSHA General Industry Safety Orders, Respiratory Protection Program, and Safety Directives.

Basic Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years’ experience
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
• Must be a US citizen
• Candidate must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision
• Candidate must successfully pass a medical screening exam
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Hands on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, or any of the basic sciences
• Basic networking experience

• Ability to work flexible hours (on call, shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed)

Preferred Qualifications

Desired Experience:

Pay Range:

Pay Range $90,350.00 - $139,000.00 - $187,650.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
