- The Leidos Defense group has an opening for a highly motivated individual. The Telecom Systems Integration Engineer position at MacDill AFB, FL supports the Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSM-O II), Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE). The JCSE team provides en-route, early entry, scalable C4 support to Regional Combatant Commands, Special Operations Command, and other agencies. In this role, you will be responsible for new capability requirements and design, system assessments, and providing hands-on engineering support. Key elements of this position include: conducting analysis and assessments on supported technologies; developing and recommending functional design solutions to meet stakeholder requirements; providing Tier II support to the Joint Network Operations Center (JNOC); developing, engineering, and recommending hardware and software solutions; performing system software/hardware upgrades; and conducting cybersecurity mitigations on design solutions to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) cybersecurity requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide operations and integration support for a multi-vendor telecommunication infrastructure that includes routers and switches, Cisco Call Managers, Riverbed network accelerators, multiple vendor firewalls, multiple vendor servers, satellite equipment, cellular devices, and tactical radios.
- Providing Tier II routing and switching support with hands on experience designing, testing, and implementing IGP, EGP, MPLS, VRF, and NFV/Service Chaining on an enterprise network to meet security, performance, operational, and functional requirements.
- Ensuring proper routing protocols are being applied to optimize the end-to-end network performance from the Local Area Network (LAN) through a Wide Area Network (WAN), to a Campus Area Network (CAN), to a Storage Area Network (SAN), or data center.
- Assisting the government customer with identifying any derived design objectives, technical specifications, performance requirements, and interoperability specifications to ensure the system design will meet stakeholder end-to-end requirements.
- Ensure the system design adheres to industry standards, DOD standards, DOD policies, DOD instructions, DOD directives, cybersecurity policies, and best commercial practices.
- Configure, install, remotely manage, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual local area networks (VLANs) multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), IP multicast and quality of service (QoS).
- Document networks and changes to systems and all required checklists for use within the configuration baseline..
- Provide analysis for how the operational, functional, and performance requirements will be met as part of the system design, test, and implementation of initial capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ce, CCNA Security, CySA+, etc.)
- CCNA
- Education: BS Degree and +4 years of prior relevant experience. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Clearance: Secret

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
