Job Description:

Leidos is seeking an Agile Developer to join the Air Force Technical Application Center (AFTAC) US National Data Center (US NDC) team.  The candidate requires a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and will work on Patrick AFB, FL. The Agile Developer will work side by side with the software, systems, database, hardware, and operations teams to design, implement, test, and deployment software. The Agile Developer will utilize SAFe principled agile design, development, and maintenance practices in a DevSecOps environment.

A successful candidate will have experience with software design patterns and DevSecOps best practices working in real-time systems or high-reliability environments.  Including experience in software tools and scripting languages used for design, development, and maintenance of applications using Java and Python.  Strong communication and teamwork skills with an intellectual curiosity and natural drive to advance knowledge and technical skills will be key

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, testing and maintaining build and deployment for DevSecOps CI/CD environment.

  • Help develop hardened code following industry best practices and in accordance with applicable DoD and DISA policy and guidelines.

  • Develop system capabilities and unit tests in support of Sprint release commitments.

  • Assist in defining and designing system interfaces and supporting micro service components to meet integrated system objectives.

  • Develop Java, JavaScript, python, and associated code elements to facilitate prototype delivery.

  • Actively participate in Engineering Scrum and design meetings to drive quality releases.

  • Produce and maintain documentation on installations, procedures, and troubleshoot guides for systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility

  • BS with 2 years of related experience OR 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree OR MS and less than 2 yrs of experience.

  • IAT Level II certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ certification), must be current or earned within 6 months of hire date.

  • Fluent in Java and Python.

  • Agile software development experience  (SAFe expertise is desirable.)

  • Experience with DevSecOps CI/CD build automation tools.

  • Working experience with Linux and Git or similar software configuration management system.

  • Knowledge of DoD processes, policies and guidance.

  • Experience with virtualized environments.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Aptitude to learn new technologies and the ability to perform continuous research and analysis and support technology evaluations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (i.e. Java, C) and scripting language (i.e. Python, Perl.)

  • Experience supporting a high availability 24x7 mission system.

  • Experience with Kubernetes in a production environment.

  • Experience building out CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tool.

  • Demonstrated general experience of a research, development, information systems engineering or information operations nature and have a demonstrated ability to apply principles and methods of information technology in problems dealing with information security and information assurance.

  • Experience working with and leading multi-disciplined technical teams.

  • Experience with configuration management/version control systems and problem tracking system.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
