Leidos is hiring a Database Administrator - active TS/SCI required in Suitland, MD.
Our work is onsite; an active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this role.
Our new colleague will work to achieve critical mission objectives necessary to continue smooth operations for HOPPER (HOPPER is explained below, don't worry!) and other internal and external agencies.
Our new Oracle DBA will collaborate with internal/external customers and other experts to develop technical solutions to complex problems which are not immediately identifiable; our new DBA will be innovative, engaged, proactive and responsive to meet mission objectives.
The HOPPER mission (I promised I would explain!) is to provide information technology services to fully enable ONI ( the Office of Naval Intelligence) and the Navy to meet mission requirements.
The ISC Operations (ISC-O) Department is an integrated workforce of civilians, active duty and Reserve Naval professionals who support combat operations and provide vital information for planning America’s defense against maritime threats at home and around the world. ISC-N3 Operations provides Enterprise Operations support to the ONI customer community at the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) facility, to Department of Navy (DON) Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Contiguous United States (CONUS), and to shore SCIFs supporting commands subordinate to United States Fleet Forces (USFF) around the world, all on a 24/7 basis.

Primary Responsibilities
Analysis of computer networks with primary knowledge requirements of information processing methodology, information technology, computer capabilities, and processing techniques.
Work across IT functional boundaries (I.E. Other System, administrators, SAN administrators, Network administrators, Database administrators).
Maintain daily operation and proactively address problems on server/systems, operating systems
Explore and suggest solutions to challenges as appropriate; monitor space usage, delete log files, dump files, correct errors
Install, configure, maintain, document and administer databases, Oracle Server Software and Oracle related products to provide optimum performance and system availability
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents detected during database monitoring or reported by users.
Manage, migrate and debug application software, as it applies to the Oracle Database.
Conduct random health checks on databases and prepare performance reports.
Basic Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance
Security+ certification
BS in IT field and 8+ years of DBA experience; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience with Oracle 11GR2 and database administration
