Job Description:
The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for the Navy’s Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) NetOps Specialist in Yokosu. The SMIT contract will provide secure end-to-end Information Technology (IT) services to more than 400,000 hardware devices and 600,000+ users at over 1,600 Continental United States (CONUS) sites and over 82 OCONUS site across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East; constituting one of the largest combined networks in the world.
This position will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the network infrastructure providing connectivity services to vessels in port. This will require the completion of daily checks, performing vulnerability scans, monitoring network connections, resolving and reporting outages, and maintaining the lifecycle replacement of network equipment. The NetOps specialist may also assist in the connect/disconnect process for vessels arriving or departing from piers at their location. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in network administration and ideally experience operating and maintaining Navy networks.
Primary Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will Oversee, plan and organize complex operational designs, develop support plans, coordinate implementations, and provide second level support for Local Area Network (LAN), Base Area Network (BAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions encompassing heterogeneous platforms. Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of Network Operations,
Work with Cyber Security analysts to ensure Enterprise information flow is secure
Ensures effective and efficient operation of network systems, architecture and topology
Monitor to ensure all operating systems are functioning properly and conform to operation security policies and procedures
Receive and analyze network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts. Track and document incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
Assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levels
Develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the Network Operations Center
Participate in strategic network and operations planning
Work within the DevSecOps methodology to plan and support implementation of new technologies
Prepare recommendations for resolutions to NetOps challenges based on monitoring results, tools analysis, and/or forensics
Assist the Cyber Team employ approved defense-in-depth principles and practices (e.g., defense-in-multiple places, layered defenses, and security robustness). Assist with the collection of intrusion artifacts (e.g., source code, malware, and trojans) and use discovered data to enable mitigation of potential computer network defense (CND) incidents within the enterprise.
Develop system support requirements by reviewing and analyzing customer business processes and evaluating available Enterprise Services (ES) and supplier capabilities.
Author procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use.
Lead project teams in implementing new or upgraded designs and coordinate project efforts with support groups.
Create plans that support implementation of changes.
Participate in system support design and performance evaluation reviews.
Advise on distributed network computing issues.
Monitor and maintain security and integrity standards and controls.
Plan and Assist in the evaluation, testing and recommendation of hardware and network configurations based on customer need.

Basic Qualifications
HS Diploma and 6 years of directly related work experience in the Information Technology field
US Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance
Possess a current Information Assurance Technician (IAT) II certification (ex. CompTIA Security+ certification)
Must possess at least one of the following certifications:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Preferred
Microsoft OS Certification (MDAA, MTA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, etc.)
Hands-on Experience in working with DoD networks, including NIPR and SIPR
Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network
Advise network users of hardware requirements, configurations and limitations
Willing to perform shift work
Preferred Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Demonstrated hands-on expertise networking technologies and data centers
Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topics
Proven ability to influence and mangers of other service support models and supporting teams
Ability to manage globally distributed 24x7 operations to include short-notice travel in response to emerging operational issues
Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
