The Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking a Project Manager for a Cloud Software Development opportunity in Atlanta, GA.
The qualified Project Manager will oversee multiple software development initiatives in a cloud environment using both commercial and open source technologies. The work will support the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manages multiple software development initiatives with complex interdependencies in a fast-paced environment and involving multiple stakeholders.
Creates project charter and project schedule, facilitates internal and external stage gate reviews. Provide status and monthly reports regarding the tracking and delivery of project deliverables.
Responsible for the administration, planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost management, communications, issue resolution, deliverables, and delivery of assigned projects.
Serves as primary point of contact to the CDC customers to ensure client-satisfaction regarding project goals and objectives. Interacts with customers on project requirements, timelines, project status, deliverables, etc. Collaborates with the program manager on escalation and resolution of customer issues.
Leads project teams, applying agile methods and processes, meeting facilitation skills, and personnel development techniques.
Manages workload across the team by assigning project work and other team tasks, monitors progress and takes corrective action as necessary. Ensures quality of team's work and on-time completion.
Represents project team in cross-organizational workgroups, communities of practice, project teams, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Health or related field with 8 years of experience in a technology or public health environment.
Experience/familiarity managing cloud software projects, micro-services, Agile/Scrum methodology, and/or SecDevOps
5 years technical and project management experience, including diverse experience in the development, integration, operations and/or maintenance of complex systems and technologies.
5 years of demonstrated project management, cost accounting, planning, organizing, staffing, reporting, coordinating, and directing all aspects of a project or a program from inception through completion.
Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities.
Superior oral and written communications skills, capable of translating and presenting complex technical and project management concepts to management and customers, through presentations and other written formats.
Demonstrated ability to rapidly build and sustain strong customer relationships through superior delivery and bringing innovative thinking.
Comfortable with ambiguity and turning gray areas into opportunities.
Demonstrated aptitude and ability to scale the learning curve as evidenced by record of education, professional certifications, and a variety of experiences.
High levels of energy and superior follow-through abilities.
Preferred skills
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
Training/certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, DevOps, DevSecOps)
Experience with Microsoft Azure environment, Rancher.io, and CI/CD processes
Previous consulting experience or experience supporting multiple projects and customers
Previous CDC and/or Public Health experience or global health experience
Experience with CDC project governance and security/privacy processes
Open source technology development experience
Interest in and passion for solving complex problems
Experience with public health informatics projects in the federal or non-profit / university arena
Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance is required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,900.00 - $126,000.00 - $170,100.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
