Job Description:
The Counter WMD Weapons and Capabilities SE&I Team is looking for a Test Scientist and Remote Sensing Subject Matter Expert who has expertise applicable to the characterization of counter WMD and improvised threat related test events.
The required expertise shall include familiarity with LIDAR, hyperspectral imaging, and other electro-optical characterization tools and techniques for evaluating dispersal and post-dispersal viability of chemical, biological, and radiological species.
The remote sensing expertise shall also include change characterization techniques, such as coherent change detection and interferometry from electro-optical or synthetic aperture RADAR systems, in addition to familiarity with ground, aircraft, and satellite based systems.
Candidates for this position must have at least a basic familiarity with R, SciPy, or other similarly capable statistical analysis software; excellent critical thinking and analytical skills; excellent written communication skills; and the desire to exceed expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Report to DTRA RD-ECS Division Chief.
- Review testing related technical activities including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop test plans and methodologies to meet measurement objectives to support DTRA testing.
- Provide post-test assessments to determine diagnostics and system performance.
- Conduct formal data analysis planning meetings.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other remote sensing related discipline.
- Current TS/SCI clearance.
- At least 4 years of testing and evaluation experience.
- A basic knowledge of statistics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DTRA’s counter WMD mission.
- Publications in a peer reviewed scientific journal.
- PMP certification.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
