Job Description:
The Site Security Specialist is responsible for implementing policies, procedures and processes to provide physical security support for a DoD SCIF, to include typical Site Security Representative (SSR) responsibilities. Work performed at a higher level may include implementing and providing guidance to customers and management personnel on physical security issues such as security training, regulatory requirements, security policies and procedures and emerging trends in physical security and or other security related areas. Also, provide Operations Security (OPSEC) support in accordance with customer’s OPSEC Program.
COMPLEXITY: Problems typically involve multiple issues, areas or specialties. Identify potential improvements in programs, processes, and recommend solutions to enhance results that include OPSEC concerns.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members. May communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, etc.). Works to provide input/feedback to leaders regarding procedure, process and/or approaches to security.
Primary Responsibilities
The Homeland Security Solutions Operation under the Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening within the Professional Services Support Program for a Site Security Specialist.
The Site Security Specialist will provide direct support to the customer, and be committed to protecting classified information, assets, and secure spaces. The candidate will serve as a member of a security team and will directly interface and collaborate with key leaders and the customers. Specifically, the candidate will safeguard all assets and information, process/manage SCIF access control requirements, and visit requests, provide any required security training, and provide security management and implementation of security policies and procedures within the facility. Areas of emphasis are physical security, information security, OPSEC, and verification of clearances/accesses. The Site Security Specialist will be the primary security representative supporting a major construction project that includes several secure spaces. He/she will be required to interact with and provide security support to senior DoD officials. Other duties may be assigned as needed. The position is at a customer site in Waynesboro, PA.
Basic Qualifications
Must possess a minimum of a TS/SCI clearance
Minimum of eight (8) years of U.S. government experience in the areas of Physical Security, and Information Security, with some Personnel Security (PERSEC), and Operations Security (OPSEC).
Bachelor's degree in a related area or an additional (2) years of experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of ICD 705, the NISPOM and applicable Manuals, Directives, policies and procedures.
Hands-on experience in physical security assessments/inspections and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)/Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) security requirements, to include construction standards and accreditation documentation.
Must be an expert in managing the day-to-day security operations of a SCIF.
Excellent communication (both oral and written), organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Facility Security Officer/Site Security Representative
Experience as a COMSEC custodian
Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans
Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.
Experience in the operations of SCIFs/TSCIFs.
Experience as a security professional supporting the Intelligence Community
Membership in a professional security organization
Pay Range:
Pay Range $75,400.00 - $116,000.00 - $156,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
