The Defense Group currently has an opening for a Document Control Specialist/Warehouse Logistician in the Chesapeake, VA office in support of multiple contracts and customers. The candidate must possess the confidence to collaborate and communicate with the embedded security team and program management to make decisions and learn new tasks related to Document Control, high value contract support, and to implement Document Control and security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities, equipment, and information. Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and dispositioning all classified material, some warehouse logistics related functions, conduct appropriate and scheduled classified inventory, prepare classified material for shipment, classified material handling, classified storage, transportation & shipment of classified material, and maintenance of physical locations and processes that ensure all environmental storage requirements (humidity and temperature control) are met with respect to items such as test equipment, circuit cards, and magnetic storage media.

  • The area supported is capable of reproducing approved software and firmware changes for distribution to fleet systems in accordance with outfitting schedules or in response to Installation and Check Out (INCO) or fleet failures. 

  • The facility maintains an inventory of 10000+ items with an area that is capable of generating and maintaining classified hardware, software, firmware, and documentation for approximately 800 software and firmware total assets annually. 

  • The candidate would also be responsible for storing and shipping all Sponsor Owned Material (SOM) at the government’s expense and maintaining the inventory listings of all classified material and immediately reporting any loss or suspected compromise accordingly.  All shipments and material transfers shall be accompanied by standard form Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Documentation including appropriate data required to properly identify the material and destination, shipment dates and modes, receiver and shipping/bill of lading information to relate the shipment to an associated transaction. 

  • The candidate will also support the local Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Program management, implementing and providing guidance to customers and management on security issues such as classified inventory and document control, supporting security investigations as they relate to suspected loss & compromise of classified information, Document Control database management, Compliance of Document Control as it relates to the Contract Security Classification Specifications (DD254), adherence to all Security Classification Guides, and all applicable laws and regulations regarding export-controlled information and technology and government policies. 

  • Duties may include studying, investigating, preparing reports and/or recommendations for preventative or corrective actions in areas requiring specific expertise.

  • The position also requires, working closely with Quality Management and the FSO to provide the necessary training and conduct annual Inventory’s as required by the contract.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education – To Land This Gig You’ll Need:

  • Candidate must also have good organizational skills, paying attention to details, identify gaps and develop procedures for document control, and be able to train to new document control personnel on duties and responsibilities when applicable.

  • Need a HS diploma and less than 4 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:

  • Experience in Document Control.

  • Experience in Industrial Security.

  • Knowledge of Proper Marking Requirements, Access Control, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Closed Area management.

  • Knowledge of  SIMS, MS Office Products, Document Control databases (i.e. GOLD, DPAS, etc)

  • Resourceful in solving problems, adhering to procedures & policies, and taking the initiative.

  • Professional Certifications/Affiliations.

Clearance Required:

  • Must maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $33,150.00 - $51,000.00 - $68,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
