The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer at our Chesapeake office to join our team in the Logistics and Mission Support Operation.  The Integrated Logistics Center PEO IWS 5 program is located in our ISO certified facility.  This position in the Quality Engineering Department Program provides quality assurance, control, inspection, root cause analysis, measurement analysis and continuous improvements in support of the NAVSEA SONAR SQQ-89 A(V)15 and SPAWAR C4ISR installation programs.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Review and analyze in detail performance measurements for successful program execution, subcontractors’ deliveries, receiving inspections and project deliveries.

  • Perform detailed review of external provider products/material for conformance to contract flow down requirements while documenting supplier/subcontractor corrective/preventive actions.

  • Interface and collaborate Quality Management Review inputs with functional leads (i.e., engineering, production, project management and area leadership) to evaluate and improve the quality management system with initiating updates/enhancements to QMS procedures, work instructions, forms, and plans.

  • Create, update, and apply as applicable processes, lessons learned and best practices to benefit the program and streamline process implementation.

  • Provide review and input to program plans and other program documents in support of accurate and on-time CDRL deliverables and work products.

  • Support/participate in timely quality audits to ensure compliance of customer and Leidos requirements and ensure the audits provide benefit/value added inputs to the program/customer.

  • Ensure corrective action requests resulting from internal process audits are informative, accurate and concise and are maintained in the Common Audit Database (CAD) with timely updates/closures of audit findings.

  • Lead root cause analysis for issues and findings for initial and recurring issues and help the program team understand the fundamentals of performing root cause analysis.

  • Provides support to the Quality Manager to successful implementation of quality management, control, prevention (e.g., trend analysis) and reporting activities (e.g., weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and quality control reports).

  • Develop, prepare, and review quality plans of actions and implement structured improvement activities (e.g., six sigma, DMAIC, process improvements).

  • Understand and ensure the logistics activities that involve quality assurance and control of the flow of goods, services and information between the point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements as well as ensure the execution and improvement of standard logistic processes such EC Engineering Changes, ECO Engineering Change Order and development, Technical Documentation Development, Training Guide Development, Configuration Management, Maintenance Planning, and Reproduction of Technical Content for installation systems.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education – To Land This Gig You’ll Need:

  • BS degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years of experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree).

  • Experience working with the following tools: SharePoint, MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good verbal and written skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:

  • Familiarity with hardware development lifecycle processes.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and CMMI Level 3 Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience in Shipboard/Submarine basic wiring and inspections of electrical/electronic equipment and connection boxes.

  • Experience with reading and understanding shipboard or submarine system drawings (i.e., electrical, structural, mechanical).

  • Visual TEMPEST Inspector.

  • Familiar/experience with NAVSEA requirements/standards.

Clearance Required:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
