The Logistics Specialist will direct, coordinate, and be responsible for the inventory of equipment, consumables, packaging supplies, shipping materials, documents, and other materials in support of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contract located in Elkridge, Maryland. The candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, multitasking ability and provide effective communication supported by a philosophy of continuous improvement and standardized work processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
Work as an integral part of the supply chain management team. Candidate will review receipts for completeness and accuracy and coordinate government approval of receipts.
Complete Goods Receipt (GR) actions for received material in support of Government reports.
Maintain system documentation such as packing slips and material transaction history.
Provide information and guidance to the government regarding transportation packing tasks such as shipping document creation and management.
Support property inventory and management functions must be able to operate computer equipment and applications such as SharePoint and JIRA for equipment and consumable tracking.
Provide on-going monitoring of material distribution and stock levels to ensure the safe and efficient flow of materials from customer.
Support tracking of incoming materials for inventory; working with Government officials to ensure material flow and visibility to all involved.
Able to handle approximately 50 lbs. of weight.
Operate a pallet lift.
Assist with turn-in and relocation of equipment.
Prepare and analyze inventory, material usage, cycle count accuracy, and other reports.
Prepare and ship packages via FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS, and other carriers.
Demonstrate willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned to support the overall organization.
Identifies, evaluates, and develops procedures that are cost effective and meet business objectives.
Recommends improvements to existing or planned logistics processes.
Enhances product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
Asset forecasting, planning, tracking, reporting, configuration management and the coordination of the shipping / receiving
Performs system analysis, life cycle maintenance and integrated product support (IPS) for the components of the retrograde system.
Basic Qualifications:
Security clearance requirement: ability to obtain a Secret clearance prior to start date or hold active Secret clearance.
High school degree and four+ years of related experience
Demonstrated ability to create, execute and monitor through completion shipping documents
Must have ability to reconcile inventory data for tracking, monitoring, and shipping.
Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jack.
Must have knowledge and experience in commercial and Federal Government packaging requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of military supply/property management policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
