Leidos is seeking Software Application Engineer(Cognos/Informatica) who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting an Investor-Owned Utility client headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. Leidos has a long-term customer who we have supported in all areas of IT operations since the client’s first outsourcing engagement over 20 years ago.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, responsible, and detailed oriented to work on projects related to Cognos Analytics and Informatica Power Center. They will be part of a team working on projects related to a long-term program for an Investor-Owned Utility client. The position requires working directly with client customers to provide world-class application support for multiple utility company applications.
Note: Evening/weekend work may be required.
Location: Role may be remote, however preference will be given to candidates in The Woodlands, TX, New Orleans, LA, or Little Rock, AR, as this is where the client sites are.
Responsibilities:
Develop and support Business Intelligence Applications based in Oracle and MS SQL server databases.
Financial, HR and Customer Service project development and assistance using BI tools primarily in a Data Warehouse/ETL development and Cognos reporting assistance role.
Responsible for the installation, configuration, and upgrades of Cognos Analytics (10.2.0 and 11.1.6 to 11.1.7 – two separate installations)
Provide Cognos administrative/developer support for functions including:
Server configuration (architecture and design),
Security hardening (ex. permissions for users, managing capabilities for license types)
Software installation and managing upgrades
Cognos specific reporting capabilities
Troubleshooting report issues
Framework design
SSO integration support
Responsible for the installation, configuration, and upgrades of Informatica Powercenter (10.4.1 to 10.5.x):
Server config (including architecture and design)
Security hardening (ex. permissions for users, managing capabilities for license types)
Software installation and managing upgrades
Mapping/Workflow development and promotions
Responsible for working with vendor support
Troubleshooting issues
Database Responsibilities:
Oracle/MSSQL table/view manipulation
Coordinate support of tnsnames.ora maintenance
ODBC connection creation and maintenance
Windows Server Responsibilities:
Batch file creation and maintenance
Understand security and environment variables
Basic OS troubleshooting to investigate server issues that may impact applications and/or overall performance
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar degree. High school diploma with an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Cognos and Informatica Powercenter administrative roles with 10+ years of related experience.
Preferred experience in Cognos programs (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Framework Manager, Cognos Connection) version 11.x.
Experience with Oracle 11.x/12.x + and MS SQL 2012+ database management as it relates to the reporting systems.
Experience with Windows 2012+ Server management/configuration.
Experience with ServiceNOW (SNOW) is a plus
CA AutoSys Schedule is a plus
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory as it relates to applications
Unix/Linux experience helpful
Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services helpful
Business Objects/Crystal Reports helpful
Must have experience in analyzing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions
Strong communication (written and oral), documentation skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast, paced environment and perform duties without direct supervision.
In order to access customer information, the selected candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Possess the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks to ensure project deadlines are met
Proficiency with all or some of the following: MS Office Suite including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio
Program Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
