Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Cyber Security Engineer to support the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J) Software Sustainment and Modernization program.
GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record for achieving full spectrum dominance. The GCCS-J system is a suite of mission applications that provides critical joint warfighting C2 capabilities and is the principal foundation for dominant battlespace awareness, providing an integrated, near real-time picture of the battlespace necessary to conduct joint and multinational operations. GCCS-J provides a robust and seamless C2 capability to the Commander-in-Chief (CINC), Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), National Military Command Center (NMCC), Combatant Commanders (CCDRs), Joint Force Commanders, and Service Component Commanders. GCCS-J offers vital connectivity to the systems the joint warfighter uses to plan, execute, and manage military operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Supports the Chief Engineer and Cyber Security lead in the following:
Analyzes and defines security requirements for multilevel security (MLS) systems.
Design, develops, engineers, and integrates solutions to MLS requirements.
Conducts security audits.
Generates system-level security documentation.
Supports the development of System Operation Procedure documents.
Applies knowledge of IT Governance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and encryption and decryption capabilities to establish secure solutions.
Performs risk analysis, including risk assessment processes and procedures.
Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements.
Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic. engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 8 years of related experience; Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of related experience. Additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
US citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification.
Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within an engineering team, mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work.
Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on any of the Global Command and Control System Family of Systems to include GCCS-A, GCCS-M or any other Command and Control program for any service component or COCOM.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
