As a leader, you will architect, design, build, and administer highly complicated database solutions used by both us and our customers. You will direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, and trade studies. Additionally, you will determine and recommend the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. In this role, there is the potential to support multiple contract to help provide growth and broadening opportunities within Leidos

 

Primary Responsibilities

Overall responsibilities as a Database Administrator (DBA) include performing all necessary procedures for several databases across several environments and projects.  Specific development, test, and production responsibilities will include:

  • Lead all efforts related to the design, maintenance, and administration of multiple classified database technologies
  • Recommend then implement new database solutions, products, and/or standards in support of program goals & operations
  • Lead and manage the implementation of all database-related activities
  • Install and maintain database software, including Oracle 19c RAC, on UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.
  • Providing corporate applications with DBA consultation and technical support for Oracle databases using Oracle 11G, 10G, 9i and 8i.
  • Provide customers with backup and recovery capability. Maintain nightly backups and recover loss data from backups, using software including RMAN and SQL Backtrack for Oracle.
  • Evaluate and update database designs for better performance
  • Engineer then implement solutions to integrate data from multiple databases
  • Advise application developers on efficient SQL and data access practices
  • Maintain database documents and procedures
  • Support database security activities
  • Address and troubleshoot technical problems

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 12+ years of related experience. May be able to consider additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship in order to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • Strong experience administering Oracle database technologies (Oracle 19c/12c/11g, etc.)
  • Strong experience with Oracle products (e.g., RAC, LogMiner, PL/SQL, Data Pump Export, GoldenGate, etc.)
  • Experience with database scripting languages (Perl 5, OracPerl)
  • Experience with general scripting languages (e.g., C shell, Bourne shell, Korn shell)
  • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
  • Experience with a version control system (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira)
  • Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows)
  • Prior experience reading and developing solutions to customer requirements.
  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL, UNIX, PostGres, and Linux.
  • Experience with containers and container management systems (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Ability to mentor and train other technical staff in areas of database design, administration, performance, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • AWS experience
  • USSTRATCOM or ISPAN familiarity

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $156,000.00 - $210,600.00
