Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Life Scientist II to support human use research in the Naval Aeronautics Medical Research Laboratory at the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton, OH. The successful candidate will support environmental physiology research studies and analyses to identify health effects before health and operational performance is compromised in the warfighter. Research efforts will require participation in the development of research protocols, analysis of data, and scientific reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
Schedule and assist with subject screening and data collection.
Assist the PI with paperwork for human subjects and/or animal use research approval and ensure compliance with rules and regulations (subject to final Government review and approval).
Work in collaboration with military and civilian researchers to design, conduct and implement research studies in the areas of warfighter health and performance. Including coordination of regulatory requirements, maintenance of files/study records and all activities associated with internal and external audits in coordination with the PI.
Plan and modify research experiments, procedures, tests, or survey instruments.
Recommend research design and development of a study budget.
Coordinating research data and perform statistical analyses. Including independent preparation of data and qualitative and quantitative data analyses, such as univariate and multivariate analyses of variance, regression analysis, and descriptive summaries.; Design and develop data management procedures
Coordinate activities of research assistants.
Collaborate with PIs and other contractor research personnel on technical reports, abstracts, journal articles, and conference presentations, assisting in preparation of presentations and written published articles.
Report findings, outcomes, and recommendations through formal meetings, presentations, briefings.
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS Degree plus 4 years of experience or MS plus 2 years of experience in appropriate field of research,
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
US Citizen
Experience in conducting research
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a military or medical research environment is highly desired
Familiarity with physiology and engineering,
Awareness of Test and Evaluation procedures.
Experience in STEM field of research with extra focus on engineering, physiology, medically associated, and/or psychology.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
