More About the Role:
Leidos currently has an opening on the Service Management Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract for an Enterprise Management Domain Architect. This position reports directly to the SMIT Chief Architect. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and leadership skills to successfully execute the mission of the Navy’s largest IT services program: SMIT. Under the SMIT Program, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, network engineering, service desk, seat support services, and data transport.
The SMIT Enterprise Management Integration and Governance Domain Architect applies enterprise IT capabilities across the workforce, bringing integrated business value across functional and organizational boundaries to end users at all levels of the Navy and Marine Corps. These services enhance workforce effectiveness and successful execution of the Navy’s mission. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. Domain Architects are considered Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in their Domain specialty and work closely with both Engineering and Operations.
What You'll Get to Do:
-Provides Subject Matter Expertise for the Enterprise Management technical architecture baseline.
-Influences development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results.
-Leads the work of other technical staff that has significant impact on project results/outputs.
-Develops solutions that are highly innovative, and achieved through research and integration of best practices.
-Develops high-level technical designs, products, and/or standards in support of the strategy and operations of the Enterprise Management Domain.
-Evaluates and analyzes capabilities, gaps, overlaps, and provides recommendations to optimize capabilities.
-Communicates and collaborates with the relevant Navy Prod Owner, Prod Manager, Technical Leads, etc… for the Enterprise Management Domain.
-Coordinates and attends Agile sprint meetings to help direct and assist the Engineering Team in solving complex problems and fielding new capabilities for the Navy Customer.
-Works with commercial industry vendors, partner labs, and Gov’t labs to evaluate and test new and innovative technologies that satisfy Navy requirements, i.e. AI/ML technologies, etc…
-Decomposes customer requirements and defines new Enterprise Tools, processes, and capabilities for the Navy Customer.
-Conducts trade studies, analysis of alternatives, develops high-level designs, and supports artifacts related to Enterprise Management solutions.
-Works with SMIT Engineers, Project Managers, and Operations teams to field new technologies and capabilities that improve the Navy’s Networks and increase End-User experience.
-Validates and provides inputs and updates to the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) SysML architecture model of the SMIT Enterprise Tools and ITSM Domain.
-Directs and supports design reviews focused on Enterprise Management capabilities.
-Manages DA capability overlap areas, communications, and collaborates with other SMIT Program DAs.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
-Requires BS degree and 12–15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10–13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
-Minimum IAT II Certification (must maintain for the duration of the Contract): IAT II certified in accordance with DoD 8570.1 m, i.e Security+ (must be willing to obtain IAT III once on contract).
-DoD Secret Security Clearance w/ability to upgrade to and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
-Capability to review requirements, solution capabilities, and operationalize solutions that meet or exceed requirements.
-Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment to successfully deliver mission requirements.
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills, presentation/briefing skills; ability to interact with internal Senior-level Managers and Senior Navy Customer personnel.
-Expert-level knowledge required, but not limited to: Enterprise Management Applications and Strategies, IT Service Delivery Tools, Service Desk processes and applications, Customer Relationship Management, Network Operations/Security Operations (NOC/SOC) Tools, Element Management, Dashboard/Reporting capabilities, Metrics Collection Tools and Methods, VMWare vSphere ESXi, Microsoft Operating Systems (Server 2016/2019 and Windows 10), Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc…), Domain Services (DHCP, DNS, LDAP, etc…), and Business Intelligence (Capabilities and Strategies).
-Ability to correlate ITIL processes to ITSM tool capabilities.
-Working knowledge of Active Directory Services, Account and Group Management, Identity Management, Directory services (DNS, LDAP, etc…), and Automation experience (i.e. Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc…).
-VMWare Product Experience: i.e. vSphere ESXi, vRealize, etc…
-Applicable Domain-Specific, Expert-level Technology Certification.
-Ability to travel up to 25% including the potential for OCONUS travel.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Microsoft SCOM, Microsoft MECM, Splunk, Microfocus NNMi, Operations Orchestrator, Network Automation, Service Manager, Device Connect, Operations Management, Enterprise Self Service, and Asset Manager experience.
•Recent experience with Navy IT services and NMCI/OneNet.
•Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML experience; Cameo Systems Modeler.
•15-20+ years of IT experience in multiple technical disciplines within DoD environment.
•Sec DevOps experience.
•AI Ops and Machine Learning experience (UIPath experience a plus).
•ITIL and/or Agile certifications and/or demonstrable experience.
•IAT Level III DoD 8570 Certification: ISC2 CISSP or CompTIA CASP.
•Python Scripting, other scripting, programming languages.
•Microsoft Expert Level Certification(s): i.e. DevOps Engineer Expert, Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc…
•Linux Certification(s) (i.e. Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS), Red Hat Level Linux Certification (Sys Admin, Certified Engineer, Certified Architect), GIAC GCUX, CompTIA Linux+, Linux Professional Institute, LPIC-2: Linux Engineer, etc…
Pay Range:
Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
