The Leidos Enterprise & Cyber Solutions, Defense Operation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support our Systems Engineering and Integration Division Customer located at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Fort Meade, MD. Current clearance is required! You must currently hold an active Top Secret / Special Compartment Information (SCI) Clearance to qualify.

What will you do in this role?
You will be a part of a major opportunity that will focus on engineering, analysis, and documentation of current/future objective enterprise architectures. This position will involve knowledge of architecture development and trade-offs for acquisition strategy decisions to evolve a complex system-of-systems communications enterprises.  

You will:

  • Assess Service/Agency plans, policies, processes and procedures; and define what stakeholders need to invest in, design/build, engineer/integrate, and field for future enterprise operations.

  • Implement actions and procedures for identifying, collecting, evaluating, cataloging, archiving, and distributing/sharing, the data needed to perform configuration management functions across the enterprise. 

  • Apply established, and develop new standards to ensure seamless interoperability across the operational enterprise.

  • Develop recommendations concerning continuation, modification, or elimination of current, programed system enhancement plans, collecting, assessing current proven solutions, and emerging concepts.   

  • Demonstrate exceptional writing capability, briefing skills, and technical enterprise leadership as these are foundational elements of the support needed to meet the customer challenges.

  • Possess the ability to document and articulate aspects of the critical architecture products and enterprise systems capabilities.

  • Work with technology assessment reports, technology implementation plans, systems engineering documentation, and alternative analysis reports.  

These qualifications are required:

  • BS in technical engineering related fields plus 15+ years experience; or MS in technical engineering and 10+ years of experience.

  • Hold current TS/SCI clearance. 

  • Experience developing system-of-systems functional mission architectures and capabilities using proven methodologies for complex DOD communications based programs including migration of legacy systems into modernized net-centric, service oriented architectures. 

  • Experience conducting system-of-systems architecture/performance trade-off analysis, and engineering designs of C3 systems. Understanding of, and experience with operations and technical characteristics of C3 systems to include strategic communications systems, sensor and radar systems, and communications systems deployed at command centers and on capable platforms.

  • Expertise in the areas of DOD acquisition/requirements processes, systems analysis, engineering, with a strong background on applying Enterprise wide policies to drive strategy and guidance for Stakeholders and Mission Partners influencing SE&I needs for design, build, and fielding for future system components.

These qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience with nuclear C3 missions, systems, and operational procedures currently used with the strategic nuclear capable forces in support of presidential and joint staff nuclear communications.  

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare nuclear C3 analysis, documentation, and reports.

  • Experience working with senior nuclear C3 and other NLCC community stakeholders such as OSD (NII), Joint Staff, and USSTRATCOM. 

  • Knowledge of activity, data and process modeling techniques and practices to include EA documentation requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with EA development modeling tools.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
