The Intel Group has a dynamic job opening for a Hybrid Information Assurance Security Engineer/Information System Security Engineer (IASE/ISSE) in Lorton, VA / Washington, DC. All work will be performed onsite at the National Maritime Intelligence Center. In this role, you will be recognized as the subject matter expert and will have a thorough understanding of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in Security Engineering to include operations, engineering, technical and program management support services and associated supplies to support the cyber related requirements and operations. You will be relied upon to influence development of solutions that impact mission goals and objectives and will be expected to work independently and resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation of facts and requirements.
*This position does require to report onsite to Washington, D.C. and/or Lorton, VA as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
The Information Assurance Engineering Lead is the senior POC and lead for ensuring that Government and industry best practices for maintaining Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) of IT systems and services are applied and executed in the systems engineering, implementation, and O&M of assigned IT systems and services.
Basic Qualifications
Active TOP SECRET security clearance.
Active DoD approved IA baseline certification (i.e., Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), or Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) ce, or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or Associate), or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)) per DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program for Information Assurance Management (IAM), Level II
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or technical field.
Experience securing IT systems and services to Government and industry IA standards, policies, guidelines, and best practices.
Experience actively managing IT systems and services operations to maintain CIA.
Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD or DHS certification and accreditation security controls, procedures, and policies.
Experience with Information Security Vulnerability Management (ISVM) and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Experience identifying security risks and develop and apply security risk mitigation strategies.
Knowledge and experience with Type 1 encryption devices and procedures as they relate to classified networks.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including experience in presenting material to senior Government officials and communicating and coordinating with other Government contractors and industry.
Recent Department of Homeland Security / St. Elizabeth’s headquarters campus IT infrastructure familiarity
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
